07 TL-S auto vs 03 CL-S auto

the 07 TL-S isnt all that hyped up to be.... some middle aged guy was in one with dealer tags on them.. a nice black 2007 TL-S.

i was in my CL-S and i guess him being from a dealership, or testing out a TL-S didnt like the face that a younger kid had a CL-S. so there is this main light near a road called 355 (rockville pike) and 124. in gaithursburg for all u local dudes. i look over my windows were rolled half way down. and he was already like staring,... haha..

we dont do anything when it turns green.. i just poked at him.. sped up and slowed down nothing to extreme... and were going towards the high way exits on 124, and hes on the left and in order to get to the high way, u have to be in the right.. so he nails it, and i downshift in SS and i zip passed him forcing him to get behind me.

we get on the highway, and he then flies by me in the right side right when it is possible to merge... so basically causing me to slam on my brakes and get behind him almost having to use shoulder space... that actaully pissed me off a little... i get by him hes going bout 65... and so i give him the pissed off with sunglasses on face and we slow down cuz of traffic.. going about 55 or so, were even, i roll up the windows drop it into 3rd, let vTAK hit and i start walking him.... he was trying too i could so tell by the way this man sped away after the ricer flyby around 110 mph....

i grinned knowing i just beat a 40k car with more hp. al i can say is, i gues the 2 extra doors and the ricer taillights make more weight??? LOL

moral of the story...

2g CL-S > 3g TL-S

Nice, but I think the 3.5 is faster than that. Maybe the guy couldn't drive?

Nice Kill....Keep in mind though that one right out of the dealership is not broken in yet and perhaps a couple tenths slower in the quarter.

I drove a bunch of 06 TL's last year when my CL was in the stealership and they are really sweet cars but just not as fast as my lightly modded 01 auto.

I agree. I had two 07 TL loaners with under 500 miles on both of them and I was really surprised at how slow they felt, but I had a feeling it was because they weren't broken in yet.

I know exactly where you were racing!!! Me and both my homeboys where driving in the same place! My boy (01-CL-s) raced my other boys 07 TL-s and beat him! My boy has about 5 to 6K on his TL-S already! So how many miles do you have to go until its broken in? Cause I think thats more then a enough! Oh yeah by the way, my boy with the TL-s is an exellent driver! He has a turbo Integra as well that runs 11 flat in the quarter mile! Now I will say, that the TL-s is stock but any thing can be made faster With some mods!

I thought 2nd GEN CL/TLs were dead even with the 3rd gen TL-Ps? How can you smoke a 07 TL-S with just intake? Also, if you drop the CL-S to third at 60 mph your car will feel like a Civic (trust me, I had a modded one). You have a better chance dropping it into 2nd at 50 mph.
It just doesnt add up, the 2nd gens had somewhere around 245HP (new SAE) VS 286 on the new TL-S and they both weight almost the same.

I wonder if this guy bought the TL-S after you killed him in the CL-S

Or did he leave and go test out the 07 Infiniti G35 sedan then? He might want to have a rematch with you if he sees you and wants to try the power of the 07 G35 vs your 03 CL-S.
