04TL rims fit on 01CL?

I was wondering if the 17" stock 5 spoke 04 TL rims would fit perfectly on an 01 CL? Anyone knwo the 17" stock tire size of the 04TL? Oh and if you know of how much these rims normally run second hand...that would be great. Thanks! :P

I think it would be close. They are 17X8 with a 45mm offset. Most here don't recommend going under 48mm of positive offset.

You can shave the offset to about +48 if you take it to a good rim shop that has the right equipment...

This brings up an interesting though...

Doesn't the '04 TL A-Spec come with 13" front brembos? If so, would the wheels from the '04 TL A-Spec fit on an '01-'03 CLS with the brembo kit?

The A-Spec wheels are 18X8.5 with a 35mm offset I think. This puts them out of the question as far as fitment on a CL. THe regular 17s might fit though.

i believe the stock brembos are 12.2" rotors for the 04 TL. whereas the AT 04 TL's get 11.8" rotors.

So by extension the nice 18 inch 2004 TL rims won't fit either, right? Too bad, those are sweet but really expensive. In the spring I am going rim shopping...can't wait!!! Not until then though....too much snow to deal with. Currently we have about 6 inches with another foot predicted by tomorrow afternoon.

They don't look right because they stick out. The pictures were of the A-Spec wheels on a CL which are 18X8.5 with a 35mm offset. The 17X8 with a 45mm offset should fit no problem. The pics were just posted the other day they shouldn't be hard to find.

it's not just the spec A's that come with brembos, it's any 6spd TL.

so with the 17 x 8 with 45 offset and 235/45/17 tires, will it stick out pretty bad? Will it rub on the inside, the struts..etc?

Should fit fine. I have 17X8 with a 48mm offset, 235/45 tires and there is no problem. A 17X8 with a 45mm offset will stick out 3mm further which is not very much. The A-Spec wheels are a 35mm offset and they are 1 1/2 inches wider so they will stick out over an inch from where the stock wheels are.
