04 TL Rear Sway

I know some members here have the 04 TL Comptech Rear Sway Bar installed. What are your opinions on it? Did you replace the front sway bar with something else?

I am looking at the option of replacing the CLS rear sway with the 04 TL comptech one and possible leaving the car that way. This may induce oversteer, but I would welcome it.

What's the difference between the CT 04 TL rear sway bar & the CT rear sway bar for the 03 CLS?

I believe the CT 04 TL sway is thicker than the 03cls one.

i bought the 04 TL bar since its only 115 vs. paying more than double for the set. keep in mind the front bar with the set remains the same size, only a slightly thicker internal construction.

yep. i'm not sure how many mm in thickness the two are. but the TL one is significantly thicker(and who knows how much heavier).

'04 TL comptech rear bar was a direct bolt-on to my '03 CL-S 6spd. It does make the rear come around easier, but I wouldn't say it oversteers, just understeers less and corners flatter.

Yeah cause I already have the CT sways for the CLS. I'm not getting another rear sway. I was just wondering what the difference was since CT's site says both are 22mm.

They are both 22mm and solid.

I think it's pretty obvious that they are the same part. They just sell only the rear for the 3G TL.

Interesting probably this summer I'm gonna jump into this mod since I'm still on the stock sway setup. As I recall I remember CleanCL posted a thread about installing Energy Greasable bushing instead of using the TL sways bushing provided by comptech. Results proven to be firmer in turns and last twice as long than the comptech ones

Heres the link:https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=179363

this can be done with a little modding fitment and also can be purchase at a local Pet Boys store

yup. i rode on the bushings that came with the bar for a couple days, then installed the energy ones, noticed a difference during install and ride. holds the bars much tighter. literally no play in the bar. if i can get the bushings to fit in my driveway with basic hand tools, i'm sure many others can do it too.
