'04 S2000 vs Red SC'ed CL-S in Atlanta - Anyone here?
Wasn't me racing, just saw it and figured I'd see if it was anyone here...

I was turing right onto an open street and a red CL was coming up behind me. I got in the left lane and he pulled up in the right one, as we both stopped at the light. He was looking over at me a lot, so i thought he might try to race me. At the light neither one of us took off fast, but i heard him get on the throttle hard, so I quickly jumped on it. He had about a half car lead and I sllloowwlly started to pull on him, by the time we shut it down I was about a half car length ahead of him. We were probably going about 75 and we had to slow down because the light ahead was red. We pulled up next to each other and exchanged thumbs ups. He then told me that he was supercharged.

Yeah... It couldn't beat it. But the outcome would be similar to the story posted here.

nice replies guys. I agree that that there were either: Driver error or an auto not S/C'd CLS.
OR Hurleysurf's S/C finally sold to someone in ATL

I've only had the opportunity to run against one. It was a highway run from about 60-110ish. I started in the lowest part of 3rd...which hurt me a little. He hung with me until the revs started to climb where I steadily walked away. I had just shifted into 4th @ 110 when we slowed down. I was about 4 cars or so ahead.

S2000s have run 13.6's on a good day with a good driver (check s2ki.com if you want slips)... Its rare, and 13.8-13.9's are more common (with good drivers), but I don't think a stock CL-S running 14.8's would be considered "running with" a stock S2000 running 13.9's ...
A S/C'ed 5AT CL-S runs what in the 1/4 mile? ... mid-13s? I don't recall off the top of my head, but someone who was surprised / bad driver could probably have gotten beat by a stock S2000. I'm not 100% sure if he was stock either ... and this was from a dig too where the S2000 has the advantage of RWD, although the poster admits to not taking off hard, so I guess its really negated.

I think in general there's a certain level of respect for most Honda / Acuras over on s2ki and I would imagine the same thing over here and generally speaking since a lot of us are car enthusiasts on both sites, a good level of respect for all cars in general (well, most cars at least).

Where the hell did the guy in that s2k post on the s2k forum get this information:
3.2 CL Type S w/CTSC: 0-60mphis 6 seconds flat, 1/4mile is 14.2, WHP is 289, Torque is 246 and weight at 3,461. At launch there is a lot of wheel spin and engine bog and expect wheel spin through second gear.
I though cl-s stock is 0-60 in 5.9 sec. A sc'ed, w/ intake, headers, exhaust should be able to do a lot better then 6 sec

It SHOULD be able to but more power in our cars doesn't necessarily lead to quicker 0-60 times due to lack of traction. Once it gets moving though...

I've read 2 magazine reviews for a Comptech SC'ed CL-S and both had terrible times for 0-60 and 1/4 mile cuz presumably the drivers had no clue how to launch them.
Could be some of the same here for this driver again the S2000, or maybe he just didn't have any mods other than a charger which would put you somewhere around what a stock S2000 runs.
