The my CLS-6 has the lightest clutch I have ever driven. Try driving a late model Mustang GT in traffic. My 95 was murder.

I know what you mean I have a civic with a stage 4 clutch. It almost takes 2 feet to press it down. a biznatch in traffic, but in a race its almost unbeatable

Yeah my friend had a 97 GT Stang and that clutch was a bitch. First time I drove stick. Almost made me never want to drive a stick car ever again.

The car looks GREAT, I know you will come to love the clutch after you get used to it.

I really don’t understand this whole problem that people have with stick shift and traffic.
Except for 2-years with my 2001 CL-S, I’ve owned stick shift cars EXCLUSIVELY since 1985 and have driven in all kinds of traffic situations.
There are only a few RARE times that I wished I had an AUTO.

Thanks Shawn I knew it was the best decision to upgrade to the 6 speed. All the people that have been in my 02' when I drove them in the 03' they all said the same thing.....no comparison the 03' is about 15-20% faster than my 02' and thats with the 03' stock....I can only imagine with the Comptech headers and intake

The only time I wish I had an auto is when I completly screwed up my left knee, it hurt like a bitch to push down the clutch on my 94 accord.

Hey guys it isn't driving the 6 speeder the problem its the fact that coming back from Jersey I had to take the Lincoln Tunnel and now that the cops are checking every truck for terrorist activities....it took more than 2 hours to pass it and then I got stuck in Manhattan traffic and then going over the Bridge to get into Queens I hit traffic again...Needless to say I would of hated doing this in my auto but in the 6 speeder is was a great break in day.

Oh yea first 10 min. in the car i started to panic because I didn't know where the 6th gear was at. So I pulled over and did a couple of shifts and found out exactly where it is from center spot

Yea, I screwed up a few times at first too.
Just be real careful DOWNSHIFTING because that’s where it’s VERY important to grab the right gear to prevent over revving the engine.
Don’t be too aggressive before you learn the gate well.

The problem I had the fist day or two is that I was worried about accidentally grabbing REVERSE instead of 5th or 6th.
I wasn’t aware that there’s a physical lock that prevents this from happening once you’re moving.

Yea same with me. I was worried about missing and going into reverse, It wasn't until I read the manual when I got home that I realized that there was now way to get into reverse once the car is moving foward as there is a gate to protect you from doing that. I also noticed that I kept forgetting to shift into 6th gear because I was so used to 5.

And the downshifiting, I don't recommend it until you learn the gearbox. I have done 6th to 3rd on hard stops but I only did that after I learned the box because I was worried that I might go into first.

By the way Shawn, Nice Avatar.

Lou I need to get the Comptech springs also let me know where you plan to have the install done I need advice I'm new to this stuff. Congrtats on the car !!!

i know exactly why the cl has a 4x4 look. the other day i parked my cl-s dropped with comptech springs next to a 02 es300 and my car look so tiny. i remember one time i parked next to the same es300 when i didnt have my drop and both appear to me the same size. the 4x4 look gives the cl a bigger look!

Thanks bro! I think this car is so comfortable as is...but the look its just to 4x4. I already had Comptech and they are great springs...Im thinking of doing either the Teins or the Zeals. I heard the Teins are coming out with the ones for our cars with stiffer spring rates so maybe Ill wait for those. I can only recommend is one place and that is Park Ave. Acura....Jens is awesome for this type of work. If you want maybe we can drive up and get the work done the same day so we can hang out for a while and takes some pics. Pm me if your interested.

Don't recommend downshifting? How the hell do you drive the car? Do you take city right turns in 6th?
This car is EASY to downshift. Any gear is easy to find if you know the tricks of ALL manual shifters. When you want to find 3 or 4th (upshifting or downshifting) let the shifter find the gate for you.
No sidewise pressure. When you want find the 5 - 6 gate slight right pressure (and this shifter does not take much). When you want to find 1 -- 2 slight left pressure. Have not yet had any problems

If you are trying to FIND the gate by moving your arm left -- right thats your problem. The shifter is designed to find the gate for you.

That isn't what I said. I said I didn't do it for the first few days until I got a feel for it.

I discovered that the shifting feel is completely different from my old honda and I was afraid in this car of missing the downshift when I first got it. Now that I have the hang of it I downshift all the time, on hard breaking I often got from 6th to 3rd

Guys you were right this car is a gem WOW. I love it to the point were I don't even want to drive it just look at it in amazement
I noticed that in my automatic sometimes the car was fast and when hot the car dragged ass but not with this one you can drive it hard to your hearts content.

Anybody considering upgrading to this car is all that is cracked up to be, I am afraid of what this car can do with headers and intake..

British Columbia, huh?? Try handling the traffic in the NYC metro area everyday for a year.

Nice ride Lou!! Don't bitch too much about the ride height. My Maxima has more ground clearance than an Expedition.

Peace.
