'03 CLS vs. 04' Maxima (Rockville)
Sunday night at about 12:45am, I pull up to a 2-lane left turn onto a long stretch of road. (W. Gude for those of you around the Rockville area) I'm the only one there at first, and I'm waiting for the light to change. I see xenon's come up behind me and switch to the next lane over, and it's a brand new Maxima. I don't even look over, not in the mood to mess around. The light turns green and I wasn't paying attention so I hit the gas after like 3 seconds. However, the guy in the Max (mid 40's white guy) takes off at about 60% throttle I'd say, and chirps into 2nd, and sounded like 3rd. I just casually drive on. There's another red light about 50 yards away we both get caught at again. And again, I pay him no attention and just wait for the light to turn green so I can be on my way. The light turns green, and it's a replay of the last light. He takes off at about 75% throttle this time and chirps into 2nd and most likely 3rd. We reach the major intersection (at Rockville Pike and Gude Rd.) , and it's red. This time we line up and I know what he's gonna do, so I decide to play along. I keep VSA on, and I'm in SS mode. The light turns green and we both get on it. Throughout first we're both even, but as soon as I nail the 1st->2nd shift at about 7100rpm's, I'm pulling ahead by about a half car-one car length. The road looks clear so we both keep going, and I pull on him a little more. He's keeping up pretty good though. We kind of shut it off after we hit about 80-85 cause the roads start to get bad up ahead. He slows way down and I keep going at about 55-60mph, so he's a good 10-12 car lengths back. He flashes me so I think maybe he's signaling me to slow down to talk or at least a thumbs up. So I start to slow down to like 40mph and he slows down even more. Wouldn't even pull up next to me. ??? So further down the road (Norbeck/Gude) the light is red again and I look over at him to throw a thumbs up, and he doesn't even acknowledge. He just takes off goin like 90 down the road. Pretty good race though, and at that time, the roads were all clear except 2 cars going the opposite direction. I don't ever race anyway.

chirping 2-3 shift? I wouldn't think the max could because I hadn't heard of any members here doing it NA. I can chirp into second hard but not third.

my father has a 04 maxima se automatic and i took it to the track in 80 degree weather and humidity in the 70s and got a 14.4 bone stock... i know in cooler weather i can get 14.2s out of it as is.. a guy on the org got a 14.2 bone stock in his rental 04 maxima in cooler weather, and a 6 speed got a 14.3 stock the car is freaky fast for stock especialy for an auto.. again nice kill on the maxima...

For the50 zillionth time these cars Maxima 02-04 manual/auto and CLS/TLS and the 04 TL manual/auto run so close its a drivers race, go to the org and they are claiming the same thing. When I see these threads they are believable until the lead gets unbelievable, its driver dependent with the Maximas having the Low/mid range advantage and the Acuras up high.

Make certain someone videos the showdown. Also, make certain you guys run when the sun's up; I'm SOOOO tired of these nighttime videos where all I see are racing head/tail lights (blurry at that).
