03 CL-S vs 01 TL-S

Well, if anyone in vancouver knows the oakstreet bridge is pretty long and straight. My friend has an 01 TL-S and I have an 03. I'm running at about 70km/hr in 3rd gear and count to three. I let him get on the gas first, just to make sure i didn't jump the gun on him. Once i heard his engine roar, i immediately floored it and starting pulling on him really easily to 6900 rpms at the top of 3rd before shutting down 4-5 car lengths infront of him.

I guess the 6MT really does have a lot more pull than the auto's. His other car is an M3 6Mt.. and no.. i won't race him :P

There is 0.5sec in 1/4 mile run. I estimate a stock TLS wil do 15.0 and CLS-6 will do 14.5s. That is stock for stock... How about coming to New England Dragway and racing you there...

Tl-s vs. cl-s 6spd

my wife and i bought our cars on the same night. she bought an
03 tl-s i bought an 03 cl-s 6spd w/navi chrome factory wheels.
we've lined up and done the freeway runs. i am very impressed with how fast the tl-s is 0-60. if i don't beat on my 6spd too hard i can only get about a car length on her. but from 65mph on i pull steadily. both cars are bone stock. my wife traded in her 02 rsx-s
w/akimoto intake for her tl-s. she is also into the performace scene. but she's too scared to modify her tl-s because of all the tranny problems she heard about. anyways i dig both cars it's nice not having to shift sometimes.

Very nice to hear that. You're just like me then. My Gf and I bought our (her TL and my CL-S) on the same nite too. I had traded in my protege 5. Sometimes when i'm feeling lazy or after a hard workout, i take her TL - tho not the S, it still has some kick to it and it's nice not having to shift.

intersting how quickly significant others can pick up on our hobby. there is no doubt in my mind that one day my girlfriend is going to ask me to reccomend her a car like mine. maybe she'll be the one talking about her car all the time........

TLS didn't come out till 02. I assume it was an 02 unless it didn't have fogs then it could have been an 01 with a Type-S badge. How did you know it was an S or an 01?

Oh, i didn't know when the TL-S came out, but he's had it for awhile now. It had fog lights so i'm assuming it's an 02 then. He's not a ricer and i know he wouldn't put a type S bad on non Type S car. His other car is an M3 so he has no reason to do that. Also it had to be a TL-S otherwise i would have pulled BUS lengths on him.
