03 CL-S 6-speed vs 350z Supercharged 6-speed
Its times like these that I wish I had my GoPro with me.....this race was planned for weeks by a friend of mine and finally got a chance to run him. First off, his Z dyno'd at 365 whp so there was no doubt in my mind that his car should be faster. I'm probably putting down around 275-280 whp but I just weighed my car yesterday and it stands at 3120 lbs which is lighter than I thought. And im only 160 lbs so still under 3300 lbs...this Z had 295's for rear tires with a tread wear of 220 so I knew this thing should launch me off the line. I ran a 13.6 @ 103 last time I ran my car and since then I added the 3.7 IM, 76mm TB and took out about another 100 lbs from the car. Plus in this colder weather (60 deg) my car feels like a rocket. All that said we first raced from a dead stop at a light. Light turned green I launched about a car and a half from him in 1st, then 2nd I was still walking him....it took up to the end of my 4th gear for him to slowly creep up to my rear bumper and at that time I was doing over 120 mph so I let off. Then we hit it from a 40mph roll and my car was slowly walking his so he let off and gave up after that. He couldn't believe what just happened and either could I. The look on his face was priceless because he was such a cocky person before all this happened.

I've got Comptech Headers, cat delete, high flow resonator, 2.5" exhaust, Comptech mufflers, 4" Intake tube, light weight pullies, mugen stat, cooler fan switch, Ridgeline 1.8" IM Spacer, 3.7 IM, Blox 76mm TB, Thermal gaskets, 18x9 RPF1 rims, Nitto NeoGen 235/40/18....trunk is gutted, lighter battery, braces under rear seats removed, no passenger seat (bitches sit in back), and that's about it.

I raced him from a dig again today and history repeated itself again...he knows how to drive because he took me for a ride afterwards. It just doesn't feel torquey at all. It seems like it really pins you back in your seat after 5000 rpms...or i guess its just not a Honda...should've had VTEC yo...I think the CL's 6-speed tranny is just geared amazing. If you can get traction your bound to take A LOT of cars off the line. Our 1st gear is brutal....then you need the hp and torque to keep going...A LOT of people under estimate these cars

Dude, are you smoking on a pipe? You people here are hilarious, next thing you'll be posting kill stories about gtr's, vette's etc and how your gearing is amazing and how light you are.well Z weights around the same as your freaking cl. And having almost 100whp over you and more than that of a torque, your bullshit not going to stick. I know cl and supercharged z , where z is with 365whp should easily be in 12s and that's many bus length on your car.

Before you talk shit do some homework and you'll see 350z's supercharged that cant break in the 12's. Also, take your time and read my post again, I did mention that he should be able to have beat me no doubt in my mind, but what's done on the street is far much different than on the track. if my car runs low 13's and I had a better launch than him its obviously possible. Dont be mad that my All Motor CL-S will beat your supercharged G35...

I HAVE posted dyno sheets and 1/4 mile slips in the past for your info. Don't just assume that im guessing. Again, read at the top what i wrote...last dyno my car put down 265 whp and 237 torque. With those numbers i ran a 13.6 @ 103 mph with a 2.2 60ft. SINCE THEN i added a 3.7 IM, 76mm TB, 4" intake tube and shedded another 100 lbs off. So there's NO doubt in my mind that im running low 13's now.....

how fast was that?
The other day i was getting on my car in 3rd to the 4th shift and let off and the speedo said like 105 110.
I couldnt imagine seeing the end of 4th on the street.

Yeah that was definitely the fastest i had my car up to...which was very stupid of me because i dont ever like going over 100mph. The Z did start creeping up to me but at the end of my 4th he reached the back of my bumper thats when i let off and quickly looked at my speedo and noticed i was in the 120's...look, that Z should be faster than my car, but he had 3 chances to prove that and lost every time. Do i think im a better driver than him? Yes, for sure...with a great driver ill tell you that the Z should beat me but after seeing the car in action i dont think he'll get me by much at all.

a stock 350z HR runs low 13's. Maybe his engine wasn't tuned with the supercharger or something wasn't right. At 365whp, that is much more than a stock HR'z. That is why I have my doubts that his z wasn't running up to snuff. Good kill nonetheless

Tell me, what does a single bus length equate to in time on the drag strip on average (4 cars lengths presumably)? The fact you attempted to make it plural tells me "YOU DON'T KNOW" what the fuck you're talking about lol.

Anyways, if anyone wants to make a good argument that has an actual basis, then it'd be best to look at the torque curve for both applications plus all its other variables. If the 350z was a ricer on 20's, that would negate to a lot of additional rotational mass + the fact it would increase his gearing thus making it worse off than stock. No one here has ALL the details to both cars, so to even bother making any form of argument without a solid basis for it, is LAUGHABLE imo.
But hey, "you know cl and 350z".

Dude you don't run low 13s trust me. You don't even have a real Dyno ,you just estimating. But you don't really know. I had a cls and tls 5 years ago,fully bolted and they are nowhere near as fast. I owned this cars so I talk from what I know. I don't want to go any further , I am making over 400whp. You think you slap a couple of bolt ons without even a tune and you get 65-70 whp over stock, keep dreaming.And yes 360-370 whp vq35 will easily break in high-mid 12s with good launch.just ask you bodies here who know what they talking about, you'll see it's legit.

Hahahahaha!...seriously now, hahahaha! What a small world, that was him that raced that mustang. That stang' is a 1999 with 100 shot and the Z got spanked!! My friend was running his mouth to your friend about racing me. I dont know, the guy in the Z said that I took him off the line a lot better than the stang and that it should be a close race between me and the stang. Who knows...the guy in the Z traded his car THE NEXT DAY for a 4-door g35. He couldn't take anymore loses. Lol His racing days are over. I guess my friend talked a lot of smack to your buddy, because your friend with the mustang wants to race me really bad. He said that he has a nitrous bottle with my name on it. Pretty pathetic how he needs nitrous and slicks to race an all motor sled CL type S. Makes me feel pretty good though. I can just see it now...he's probably talking about it to all his buddies and their responses are probably like, "your racing a what? An acura CL type S? What the hell is that? If he's only got an all motor V6 front wheel drive then why are you spraying and running slicks?!!" .......lmao!

Weight reduction, less rotational mass with lighter wheels, solid gearing, driver mod .. I can see the race being close.
