03 Accord V6-6MT has 2-stage intake system but not on the AV6-5AT!!

Ah... another way to detune the Auto version of the 03 AV6 AND Protect the crappy transmission... That sucks for the new auto Accord guys...

Are we gona see 2 engine for the new 04 TL... one for the auto and one for the 6-speed?

Wake up Acura.. do not mess up our new TL!...

look at the spec... it seems that both the Auto and manual version have the same HP/TQ spec and same High peformance intake... It is NOT same intake!

So if the cars offer the same power maybe they needed to add the fancy intake for the 6 speed cars because it is geared differently?
Since both cars have the same power but the cars have very different sales targets (i.e. 4 doors for families 2 doors more likely to attracts single people???) Maybe they wanted to toy with the way the power delivery is accomplished ??? I don't know just a guess .Maybe the catalog you referred to is in error? Maybe Honda is experimenting to see which engine has a more positive feedback from the marketplace?

i don't see how auto or 6-speed accord owners could be disappointed considering both make around the same hp as the tl and cl typeS.

I don't think power has anything to do with the tranny failures! if so the CLP/TLP's would never fail, and those have been failing since '99! Now I remember reading an acura document that was leaked unto this site a while back, and the tranny fails because it gets too hot during repeated 4--->3 downshifts. so say you use sport mode a lot for "spirited" driving, and shift between 4th and 3rd, to get good acceleration on the highway, you are in a sense killing the tranny. Now when the tranny heats up, the 3rd gear clutch pack burns, and after 3rd is done frying itself, other gears fall through it, and thats why you get the erratic shift patterns! Had this tranny come as a P R N D, there wouldn't have been any tranny failures till well over 150k miles! Also, notice how people with the tranny cooler installed, have seldomly experienced any failures.

Now honda already insured the long term reliability of the auto 5spd accord, by not including a sport shift mode! its basically a P R N D design, so the tranny will downshift according to how hard the pedal is depressed. Guys please correct me if I'm wrong with any of this stuff!
