02 TLS vs 350z . . .

Boy I can't wait for those Innovative Mounts to get in.

I can't say what the outcome for a heads up run from a standing start would be like, but since my OEM motor mounts are totally shot, I had to settle for a little 30ish punch. Well, sort of anyway since I stil have to ease in to the gas. That let him pull on me just a little until I shifted in to 2nd. And it wasn't long before it was all over. I caught him by time I got somewhere over 5,000rpm, and then pulled him thru the rest of 2nd and most of 3rd before letting up.

I'd estimate I could probably get him by 2 car lengths or a bit more by the end of 3rd if I had some good motor mounts.

Also, it looked like a stock 350z. No wheels, exhaust or other signs of modding.

I just can't wait to see what the current mods will do at the track next season.

Oh, and Happy Thanksgiving.

You guys are funny. Check out this 07 Z STOCK.

R/T ... .145
60' ... 1.984 (This was REALLY hard bogging it off the line!)
330 ... 5.634
1/8 ... 8.614
MPH ... 81.93
1000 ... 11.150
1/4 ... 13.285
MPH ... 107.19

http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=314009

I couldn't even trap 100 in my CL with a 100 shot and every single bolt on.

I trapped 102.91 in my Z while roasting 1st and 2nd with a horrible 2.529 60ft.

yeah I wouldn't think I'd be able to touch 350Z ... the driver probably thought you'd be an easy win and didn't WOT soon enough.

It'd still be fun to put a couple of car lengths on a 350 - even if it was the drivers fault

on the 13.2@107 100%STOCK. I have seen two 05 and an 06 Z at the track and even here at 5800 feet on 2 different days they ran 14.8-15.2 (and one 15.5)...that is 13.8-14.2 (and 14.5) at sea level. 97+ NSX's run 13.3-13.5 at sea level. SO the Z is faster than the near identical hp (-16) and lighter NSX?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71nmTkRkM1E 13.3 NSX STOCK (REALLY)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlRh3YkWP8A NSX beating WS6 Trans Am (335hp/350tq, only 100 pounds heavier than a Z)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksIBU...eature=related RACE 2

I am not denying the time, but I don't believe that is 100% stock...and yes the AT CL+FWD= FTL at the track.

The 07 350Z has the VQ35HR(High Rev) motor. This Z is much faster than the 05-06 Z which doesn't have the HR Motor with the 7600RPM redline. I believe his 13.2@107 really without much hesitation. The Z weighs a couple hundred pounds less than the G35 Sedan and There are 6spd 07 G35 sedans that are breaking into the high 13's stock. The HR 350Z is also faster than the porker G37 Coupe.

Believe what you want, BUT the time slips are there and many others are under 13.5 STOCK also. I thought it was funny how Dirty type-s wrote "stock g's and z's are nothing if we have simple i/h/e". Show me a tl or cl trapping 107 with i/h/e.

13.2@107 Z's HAHAHAhaa... no wait... im not done laughing.... haha...

That track must have been freezing below sea level and going downhill then. I've managed to trap in the 102's and I beat Z's constantly by car lengths modded or not, NA for both of us of course.

My friend sells salvaged cars and his main businees is G35's and Z's the HR feels quicker but isn't much quicker, they gave up valuable torque for peak hp numbers. Last time I talk to Shawn at Church's he still has people putting the old IM back on the HR motors to get the torque back.

If that car tried to do the same thing here on a So Cal strip he would fair much worse, as NightRider mentioned.

I will believe what I want - which is if that time is true, it was not a 100% STOCK Z of 07 or any year. I haven't seen any bolt on 2G TL/CL's trap that no.

06 350Z stock here in CO - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Qz-dePPeUM
15.2@93 like I said before...which would be 14.2 and high 90's at sea level.

The best time I could find for an 07 350Z was C&D, 13.7@104 - http://www.caranddriver.com/features...ssan-350z.html...
Yes one of the mags also got a 13.9 for an 08 G35 sedan I acknowledge that, same engine specs and slightly more weight, which substantiates the 13.7 for the NISMO Z.

Keep in mind this was done by professionals who drive cars for a living, chances are they won't be outclassed by even the best of street drivers. There are countless examples of mags getting better times than owners can at the track. This actually makes me think the pre-07 Z's 14.8 I saw (13.8@SL) was an amazing run. The 07 Z weighs the same as the previous ones, unless it's NISMO which then weighs 50lbs less. 50lbs+6hp/8tq could explain the .1 difference in the 1/4, but nothing more than a tenth! +6hp/8tq and the same weight (non NISMO) would virtually impossibly have any marked effect on performance. Based on the facts it seems your assessment of the 07 HR being "much faster" is off. Otherwise, with the G37 having +24hp/2tq, it must run high 12's!

So, your buddy with a "100% stock" Z got .5 sec and 3 mph quicker than any mag could get huh? I guess he needs to start working as a driver for the mags or doing F1 or NASCAR, he is the greatest driver the world has seen to this day.

I am still at my original assessment, NOT 100% STOCK. Maybe it has I or H or E or even DR/Slicks and weight reduction at least, but NOT 100% STOCK.
