02 TL Remote question

I know i seen people talk about using the new TL remotes for 01 CLS. Is this possible? and how did you go about getting it programed for you car? Today at the dealer they looked at me like i was crazy when i asked about it.

Shawn S has the Helms manual. There is a page that tells you how to do it. The TL remote will work in conjunction with your other 2 remotes but only three can be programmed. You have to have them present all at the same time when you do it. It isn't hard. I lost a remote and bought 2 TL remotes and they work just fine along with my remaining remote.

These were posted in Chod's FAQ but with the demise or whatever of Photopoint all of us lost our pix.

Don't be surprised. Not many of the dealers know about these things. It's not exactly intuitive, you know the TL vs. the CL thing.

i had a hard time following chod's faq. hella hooked it up for me and scanned the helms manual. the main difference was that chod has position III (i think) and position III is when the engine is turned on. you need to put it to II, when the battery is on and that's as far as you go.

All my HELM scans were posted on PhotoPoint and are gone.
I have backups on CD and I will slowly rebuild the library on Image Event as I get time.
