02' M3 kicked my ass
Stopped at a light on Rte. 1 Older guy with Silver 02' M3. I knod, he knods. I tell him i like it in silver I'm waiting on a red one. He chuckles and says thanks.
(uncomfortable silence but I can see he's gonna hit it when it turns green)
GREEN.
Around 5-6 Car lengths to 100.
OWNED but goddamn it was fun to watch him launch it

M3's are cool, and fast. I basically took my friends keys from him for his 2002 M3 and had my way with it. What a machine. Just awesome out of the box. (My WRX smoked him though )

Mustangs are so much fun to kill especially Cobras because they try so very hard. I haven't ran against blown Mustang/Cobra yet though. But they shouldn't be any problem unless they run in very low 12s.

My WRX was putting almost 300 to the wheels. I ran a 13.1 on the stock turbo and injectors and computer. My setup was equivalent to the Stage 4. Guys I know with the same parts were running 12.6s -12.7 at 107-110 mph.
I miss all the power but I love not having turbo lag and the uneasy feeling that something could break.

The M3 launches pretty good with the dsc engaged you can just drop the clutch and hit the gas and the dsc does the work for you, best launches are with the dsc off and dropping the clutch at 2500 rpms and feathering the throtle, and as Pull mentioned you can get great launches that way or if you don't feather, you'll sit there smoking your $275 tires while the competition gets a 2-3 car length head start.

Post here more often...I'd love to read more of your input silver....
What are your thoughts on dsc launch vs. non-dsc launch?

DSC
In Miami Florida
Thanks Pull
Well if you don't want to concentrate on launching I'd leave the DSC on it takes all the guessing out of launching. It is not as effective as turning it off and launching properly though, I don't run my M3 in the 1/4 so I can't tell you the difference in 60 ft times, but you do get a much better launch with the DSC off. The DSC pulses the throtle and applies the rear brakes to prevent wheel spin so you know what that can do to your 60 foot times.

depends who you buy the car from. some dealers ask as much as 60k for the vehicle and people pay for them. If your interested go to Lauderdale Imports, they will sell you the car for MSRP + $500 you can't beat that price. The factory claims a time of 13.3 in the 1/4, but of course that time could be + or - .3 to .4 seconds due to the driver. If your not careful the car is a difficult car to launch (massive hp from a 6 cyl), if you just drop the clutch and the gas you'll smoke those $275 tires to no end. fun but useless if your racing.
that guy seems like he knows his car, nice run, my best launch though is at 2500 rmps DSC off and feathering the throtle until about 5000 rmps then my foot is planted firmly on the floor.
do a search on M3 GTR if you want a nice little treat.
