If you do a search, you'll find plenty of topics on this... in short:

1) A new blue color (Aegean Blue) will be added.

2) New body colored mirrors and door handles

3) Possibly smaller side mirrors.

That's about it I believe. Nothing major at all is happening. If you're smart, you'll buy one before June (when the '02 is due) and you will probably get one close to invoice!! Good Luck

I think they added "auto up" on the driver's side window.

Are you sure? I know they added auto up on the new '02 TLs. But I thought they haven't made any changes to the '01 CL.

Well, the Aegean Blue Pearl has already been added to the 2001 Type-S line, they're doing this mid stream... Same goes for the 2001 Preimum, they've replaced the Monterrey Blue with the Eternal Blue Pearl....

As mentioned the auto-up drivers side window will probably get added to the 2002, but I doubt they'll wait for October to introduce it, I imagine that will happen somewhere mid stream as parts are used up (this component I believe is shared with the TL).

Also, I think the door handles will remain chrome just because the TL did.

I doubt the six speed manual will ever happen, just because of what happened with the Legend six speed (didn't sell very well). If for some strange reason they do offer it, expect it to be a huge cost (more than the Nav option).

I do expect that if Acura is going to bring a body kit to the scene it'll happen with the 2002. Also, I expect that the mirrors will get changed. It is my believe that complaints about the CL mirrors are EXACTLY why the 2002 TL didn't get the new CL mirrors, that they went back to monocolored mirrors and smaller lower placed ones too. I expect this to roll to the CL. Also, some things that I see possibly happening are stiffer sway bars (like the TL), and new rims for the Type-S that aren't as wide to prevent the scracthing. I don't think they'll make changes to the tail lights, the TL change was pretty easy (basically they're inspire lights), but that's not to say it won't happen.

Those are just my opinions, and as everyone knows, nobody really knows what Acura will do until they do it, just look at the Aegean Blue Pearl, it was kinda a suprise that it wound up on the CL this early.

Heard about a possible stick.

But the Honda engineer gave us an excellent lesson in the hows and whys of torque steer and why the CL-S doesn't have an LSD.

He said that it would rip the wheel out of "our" hands...

Note to the syncSter, you don't return e-mail. (To CRANE or not to CRANE...)

Really I do not care about a manual. Get me a 6-sp SS with 0.1 shifting time and I would be much happier guy.
I think that that man is not for this class of cars. ITR, Civics, Yep CLS, please, no.

Just isnert a our stealth 4th gear, 4->5th, 5->6th.

My wish list is:
1) 6-sp SS
2) Shifting time, up shift or down shift 0.1 sec
3) Beef up tha torque converter and whatever else needed to support mild FI.

That's it guys, F1 style not civics....

1. Second the 6sp auto -- they are coming in some of the other cars.
2. You sure got that delay time in the shifter right. I nearly got nailed by a Dodge Stealth on a 2--4 (I was waiting for so long on the 2-3, I hit to quick and ended up in 4th, with a quick let-off to get back in to 3rd to blast by...)
3. Put in a SPORT MODE/AUTO MODE/COMFORT MODE on the console to control the shift points and delay time.

(let every one have there way -- it is programmable. We are talking about some new lines of code, and some testing.)

We can ask, cant we?

erik ...syncivic...doug is as reliable a source as my friend that told us about the LSD he speaks with top acura directors and engineers when ever he or they want and i know there's been some argueing over some ways converstaions have been handled and maybe he can be alittle agressive sometimes but i guess it comes prbablly alot form hearing crap from alot of people who dont know shit and im not saying you one because i ve read many of your posts and as near i can tell you know your shit but...its hard to tell who youre dealing with on the internet and even alot of people can walk the walk...but this guy has put millions of dollars im sure into building performance handas and works sometimes with honda doing so trust me if he say six speed manual then it's six speed manual

TRUE !!!!!!!!

When/if I see a 6-Speed on the lot my car will be for sale the next day.
With 17-years of driving stick shift only car’s, I just can’t come to like the SLUSH SHIFT in our cars.

I will take a loss and/or extend the payments to make it happen.

I guess you'll be a believer in August, better sell your car while it still has worth...and pick a number on a six-speed.

When the Maxima gets its 3.5L 260HP V6 6-speed this fall, Acura doesn't want to be caught sleeping by this mainstream production sedan knocking off the type-S for a few grand less....you can't see that that makes marketing sense?
