01CL-P vs 02Prelude

So my friend has an 02 Prelude w/ AEM c.a.intake and DC headers; ever since I've picked up my car i've been wanting to race him. So yesterday I took him to our off site parking lot for work and asked if he wanted to race on the way back, he said OK.

So leaving the off site lot we took the long way, onto this very empty 4lane road. Got next to him and we did a 25mph kick. Now at the time all I have is my injen cai. We were dead even up to about 65 and he barely started creeping away, very slightly. I was pumped Today, I ordered my XS headers; I installed my BOMZ crank pulley and I'm ready for another go!!

So today on our lunch break, me and my friend in his 01 Prelude went at it again. Since our first race I've added XS headers, Bomz crank pulley, and an RT cat.... we turned right out of the parking deck onto the empty 4 lane road, both in 2nd gear...let him kick it 1st because I thought I had it in the bag. I did, he pulled on me slightly at first but 3rd gear and 4th gear I owned. We backed it off around 95 or so.

Also on the way to work an Rx8 wanted a piece. All i have to say is those cars are surprisingly SLOW. We started from a dead stop (I was in SS mode), almost a whole car length on him by the time I should have switched into 3rd; but I lightly pushed the shifter up, but now enough to get it into 3rd and I head a YAKYAKYAKYAK for the rpms were pegged. That gave him just enough time to catch up to me and began to pass me (my nose was at his mirror). Switched to 3rd and walked off on him again.

Nice kills! The RX8 was most likely an automatic though. They're slow as sheeot. None the less way to show him your taillights.

I thought RX8 is pretty powerful, especially at high RPM

The manuals are, but the factory detunes the autos. I tried looking up 0-60 and 1/4 mile times on the autos once and couldn't find anyone with actual numbers because most auto owners joke about how slow they are anyway. I read anywhere between 7-8 second 0-60 times and high 15's to low 16's 1/4 mile. Now the 6 speeds are a different story. Mid to low 14's and -6 second 0-60s.

wow thats nuts that they do that. I was pretty shocked at how poor it performed. However when he was at the light in front of me, he rolled back just a tad before we took the left.
