one of my good friend just traded in his 99 prelude for a CLK430.. he already got 1000 miles on it..
before he traded it in.. i was always telling him that i can beat a CLK430 for sure... and now he wanna run me for a tank of gas =)
Should i take this challenge?? hehe I dont wana loose my face tho... =) WILL I LOOSE .. TIE or WIN??

Hmmm...not to be a magazine racer, but those things run 14.1 in the 1/4 mile. You are up against a 4.3L V8...torque all the way through the powerband with lots of hp to back it up. It is an auto too. Let me put it this way, for all you BMW guys....it'll whoop the previous gen M3....no doubt!

I see a clk 430 everyday on my way to home on the parkway and he knows I want to race so sometimes I take a detour to race him and he always takes me. everysingle friggen time. we both get off the pkwy exit ramp to rt.50 and we take off
and I mean everytime, the gets me.

his 430 with AMG package.. not AMG 430.. i meanhe got the AMG bodykit and rims and etc...

I have AEM CAI and i just put on my greddy exhausts.. no headers tho.

Forget it man. You dont stand a chance. The CLK 320 you can kill but dont go after the big V-8.
and I can say I have seen an older gen M-3 being killed by a CLK 430. It has such a nice engine. Now the new M will whoop its ass. I wouldnt mind seeing the new M3 up against the CLK 55.

I have gone head to head with a regualar 430 w/ AMG package(but no preformance stuff) if he has the actual AMG430, kiss your ass goddbye. I would definitley take the challenge, but just dont race off the line. weave in and out of traffic and shit, then its all about who has more balls. but it will be close no doubt. Oh, n/m, u might lose, b/c that was the day i got my headers and intake on. but dont puss out, take him for all u got!!! Type S rules!!!

Good memory. My brother has a CLK 430 as a company car (He works for MB USA) and I have posted a thread in the past, with pics, describing how these two cars are so evenly matched. We couldn't have been more evenly matched even if we were driving two identicle cars.

Yeah...but that's probably because you don't know where the cheap gas is in your area...I've seen it for 2.39 and I think on Lombard street it's like almost 2.50...so

anywayz...i raced him. Preparation: took out my woofers. spare tires.. etc...1/4 tank of gas. temp : HOT about 86 degrees

2 runs:
1st run: i was kinda scared =) before we raced.. i told him Up to 100 and he said ok
we were neck to neck from 0-65.. then there were about 1 1/2 car length when i reached to 100.. then he slowed down.. but i didnt (cHeated) so i beated him HAHAHAH.. Nah I lost....
2nd run: More confidence, but still lost by about the same length.
but it was a great run tho... By the way, remember wheni raced the supercharged Solora.. now i think i can beat him =) or at least kept up with him.
then i told him.. a full tank of gas NO WAY.. but lunch is ok.. so i took him to lunch and i drove his car and left my car at home.
damn that shit is...... i dont have much to say about his car... but i think if we switch car and race again...i will smoke my type s like nothing.... therefore he s not a good racer =)
fuck that M/T report.. CLK430 0-60 is 6.4>??? i think it s more like 5. something.

nitto tires are no good. good value, but performance is below that of yokohama, toyo, and others. you get what you pay for with nittos.
