oh......ok....

thanks im workin with the j30 parts cause that was the closest i could get from mugen. i bought this car thinking that mugen was the factory tuner (like saleen is to the ford mustang) and had planed to build this motor with mugen parts. prob should have done my homework first... i have a buddy with a full machine shop were tryin to see what can be done to make this motor better with modifing off the shelf Mugen stuff. thanks for the heads up on the boring deal works good for chevy 351 to a 383 i was thinking allong thoes lines wondering if this is the type of motor that could be "stroked". im new into this modern motor stuff still trying to apply muscle car ideas to a new comp controlled motor. thanks for the info!

ill learn as i get into it more. like i said i got a really totaled cls pulled the motor and comp out and we are using it as a test platform for our frankenstien exparaments (dont want to nuke the motor in my car )

sorry crew

btw, sorry about the flippin out. i had the State inspector following me around last week (i work in EMS) was a little on edge. i appreciate everyone's input on this project. im WAY outside my comfort zone here with this type of car, im used to 1960s-1980s muscle cars. but i like how it looks and its awfull fast out of the box. but they dont make a GDMF hayes manual for the cls...WHY!!

just put the Summer Shoes on ill post pics when i can!

No problem. These engines will make a lot of power if you let them breath. A few of us are at ~300whp untuned. I expect 320whp once I get it tuned.

For the shop manual:

www.helminc.com

Click Vehicle Owner on the left side, then search in the top left corner for 61S3M02

Its $52 and in stock. Thats where I got mine.

I honestly thing thats attainable. Maybe not the torque number, but the whp number. Bump compression to 11.5:1 or so, a nice cam, very well built heads, a stroker, some good headers, and solid tuning should do it. Theres an Accord out in CA with a J35A8 out of a TL-S thats sleeved, running Carrillo rods and CP pistons with stock compression, ported heads and Supertech valvetrain that dyno'd at 322/285 IIRC tuned on an eManage Blue. I'd assume with a full standalone (AEM EMS) he could definitely gain some more power.

The potential is there. You just have to put the puzzle together properly.
