'01 CL-P vs. Pontiac G6 Coupe

Coming home from the mall on 17N in Jersey about 9:30 i was pretty happy there was little to no traffic. I was cruising about 70 in the left lane when from behind me came a black G6 coupe. He stayed behind me for about thirty seconds then switched lanes and gunned it past me then eased back into the left lane in front of me to cut me off.

My younger brother said to me: "Dude Ryan you just got owned by that guy in the Pontiac, you're not gonna let it slide, are you?"

I was in a sporting mood, so i went to the middle lane and pulled alongside him, still cruising about 70-75. We toyed around with each other for a bit, one pulling a little bit and then settling back until i downshifted to 3rd and pulled a solid 3 carlengths in front at about 95.

By then we hit a wave of cars approaching Allendale, so we chilled a little bit until we passed through the swarm. We came to a nice two mile stretch of highway with little traffic, so we lined up even at 65, me on the left, him in the center lane.

He launched first, and i gave him a legit 2.5 car lead, when i downshifted back into 3rd, rode it through vtec through up to about 5000rpm in 4th at 115 and put a huge gap between us which he wasn't able to close.

We both resumed regular speeds as we approached the more commercial area of 17 then we both went our separate ways.

Iono about that 3 length car pull between you two cause I believe the G6 Coupe has the same exact motor and chassis as the v6 Solara and these cars can give us a run too. Even with the AEM Intake it wouldn't make that be of a difference. Anyways nice kill

I'm just saying the CL-P wouldn't have made that big of a pull away from the G6. I guess you raced against a 05 than.

Nice kill. Those G6's are not very fast in the top end in fact if it wasn't a GTP it shuts off at 106 mph.

Just saw that...hehee.

I don't have a lot of people wanting to race me for some reason. I dunno what it is. But it helps save gas though.

Haha, when I think CL-Pee, I usually think of yours Green, that's why I said that.

It's been kind of dry here lately, too. Hopefully after the New Year is over and done with and less po-po around more people will want to run it. I had a Jetta GLI mess'n with me the other day but we were only able to go two gears and he got a monster ricer fly by on me but I was pulln on him. Oh well.

I rented a car in Waikiki, Hawaii last August and they gave me a G6 and the thing seemed to be power less... Had the typical GM traits to me...
I don't know, but I believe it was an '05

Haha it's all good, bro

and idk what it is either, no one in jersey seems to be in the mood for a good race either.
i've been a little hesitant too though, because its that time of the year that all the drunk drivers start coming out of the woodwork and all the cops are on high-alert.
Once i get my radar detector for Christmas I'll be eager to get back out there though lol

I agree. Once this month is over and the weather gets better and the cars are more cleaned up...I can almost guarantee there will be more kiddies wanting to race.

What do you mean when the weather gets better??? LOL, it's actually been kinda cold in AZ the past week or so. It's only gotten in the high 50's low 60's during the day. Freezn!

Actually, since drunk drivers was brought up, I witnessed a sick accident last week. I was coming home from my friends 30th b-day party and was sitting at a light waiting to turn left. Directly across from me on the other side of the intersection was a Lincoln Town Car waiting to take a left at his light. Out of no where, a second after the turn light turned green, a Seabring came out of no where like a bat out of hell and full speed (est. around 65mph) slammed into the back of the Town Car. It was by far the hardest impact I've ever witnessed besides a pickup flipping over one time on the highway. Anyway, I put the CL in park, threw on the blinkers, ran out and and called 911. As I was on the cell the girl driving the Seabring snapped out of it, pulled her head up from the airbag and started mumbling that she needed to get out of there and leave. Too bad her car was totalled and her drivers side door was pinned shut. Turns out she was extremely intoxicated and totally failed the field sobriety test. Thankfully the guy in the Lincoln walked out of it and seemed to be in decent condition considering the impact he just experienced. The back of the Town Car was completley accordianed along with the front of the Sebring. It was just the craziest thing to see and in the back of my head I was thinking if the Town Car wasn't there to stop that Sebring it could've easily been my car broad sided going through the intersection. Anyway, just a little illustration of what massive amounts of alcohol will do to your ability to drive. I hope everyone is really careful out there this time of year and just try to keep away from drunk drivers. Sorry to be a Debby Downer!

Oh...we wash cars when it's below 40 degrees, well, at least I do. I've seen plenty of clean cars in the past couple of weeks even though the weather has been kinda on and off.

I've been seeing accidents left and right. It's scary just to be in one.

Put an extra pair of panties on (LOL)...50-60...that's warm for us!

The strips will be open in spring time. I can't wait for that.
