'01 Cl (non type s) Help needed

So basically i have had my 01 cl for about 6 months, and have dreaded not getting the type s. But now i have a new outlook, and i want to make my cl my own thing, after all, it doesn't have to be a type s to be cool right? But there are some things i would love to know how to do, like how do put the type s speedo and dash bezels on my car. I don't like the plain black, the white faced are just cooler. And are their any parts that i should pull off a wrecked cl type s that would help me out? I have access to a wrecked cl tpye s, what should i pull out of it and put in my car?

From what i know the type s has different cams and a different intake manifold. You can buy a type s intake manifold for pretty cheap. I am taking my manifold off my type S anyway and replacing it with the 09-10 Acura TL manifold. I might sell mine once i take it off . As for the the speedo and dash bezel just do a search. The mileage will be off unless you have it changed.

Welcome to azine in side the car Im pretty sure there are only 2 things that are different the gauges and the type s shifter, as for turning the clp to a cls Im sure you will get your answer soon there are alot of guys on this site that will be able to help you

the gauges should just be a straight replacment but you could use your old gauges (with the old milage but its a little more complicated) but if thats what you want to do I can walk you through it

BTW if your going to the wreckers im wondering if you could pick something up for me and send it and ill pay you for it

the clp doesnt have perforated leather, the type s does but not worth changing that out really unless u get it cheap.

The CL-S gauges are REALLY easy to swap. The physical gauges, not the entire cluster. You just have to pop each individual gauge face out (with the needle) and swap it out. I did it in about 20 minutes w/o DIY.

I had my interior wood painted with "nickle plate" to make them look like the 03 Type S, but ended up just doing them black after a while.

Id love that walk though on replacing the gauges and faces and such. As for the wrecked car, its my friends, and its got some heavy body dmg, but only slight engine problems. however, it wolnt crank. but he doesnt acutually think that it is a structual problem, but who knows. From what it sounds like though, there are not alot of differences, so why is there a 50 hp difference.

However, There are really cool led gauges that the members here have made. You'd like those much better than the type s ones. Also, I have a type s shift knob for sale if you're interested.

First you have to take the gauges out ( the hardest part) there 2 screws above the gauges to take the trim out, after those are off it pops out , but before it pops out completly you have to reach behind it and unplug every thing there 2 plugs on your left side for TCS and cruise control and I think 5 on your right for reset trip, clock, climate control your going to have to look and make sure you got them all.

After that you got to monover it out kinda tricky dont break it though. then the gauges there are 4 screws holding them on take them out then there are 3 plugs in the top disconnect them and its out

next to take the faces of first you have to pop the cover of there are clips all around it that you push in and pull the cover out (I wedged a butter knife in them to hold them you will understand when you see it ) I belive there is the clear cover and the black cover that has to come off

next is the needles be very carefull with these because you want to pull them straight off and not bend the pin behind them I used 2 spoon to pry them. after those are off then take you black gauges out and put the "white" ones in I say white cause there kinda gray any ways there are kinda glued so just be patient and pry evenly

then put it back together

when you have it all off I would suggest doing the led conversion I did blue here a pic

Oh and if you have a spare car I was wondering you could pick me up and send me the PRND5D4 etc thing that goes in the center console and illl pay you Please, I need it bad !!

good luck

Right, but he said he had a wrecked type S that he could pull parts from. So I was crossing my fingers it was a 2003 manual. (fingers still crossed)

It is not to hard but plan on it taking at least a day and the thing about it is that you can f the radio very easly so you have to be careful

I bought

-100 5 mm leds off ebay for $5
-soder
-wire
-resiters

thats it but if you havent sodered before than it may be very difficult and I have no done a navi before but it should be very simuliar

BTW heres just pink

and heres a pic with it off

As I siad I can turn it off with the flip of a swicth and change change the color so if you dont like I can turn it off

but if you notice there is too much light coming the shifter because I lost my PRN D5 D4 shifter indicator so if anyone has one Please IM ME !!
