01 Acura CL

when you get a new transmission from acura after the CL transmission dies, do they replace it with a improved transmission thats not part of the recall?

I believe so...I think it's a new transmission.

Is your car still under warranty though...?

From: The grande.. Riverdale NJ.. Hopefully moving to skyline village in Lincoln park NJ..yes dirty jersey
Of course they do, I belive they upgraded the tranny sometime in 05..
I went through 2 , one lasted 35K and othey lasted 65k The current one I have is the newer design and has 70K and is still running GREAT!
Make sure u chage the fluid every 15-30K miles and lay of the SS mode and tranny might last over 100k this time!

That's why most people trade in their cars once the warranty is up.

In agreement...

That's why they need forums like Acurazine to help people fix all their cars when they break down out of warranty...lol

I talked to a friend of mine who's the service manager at Acura of Brookfield, our local dealer in the Milwaukee area. He's really good with his stuff, he's well-respected in the NSX community for his incredible knowledge of the NSX, I googled his name and found post after post raving about his knowledge of Acruras and especially NSX's. Before I bought my CL, I asked him about the tranny issue and he says that they have had almost no problems with the upgraded transmissions in the last 3 or 4 years. Maybe some people don't agree that the new trannys are truly upgraded, but I'll trust his opinion on this.
