01-03 Air Suspension Has Anyone Done It Before?

I've been thinking about buying a air suspension kit for my car. My friend with Audi on 19 inch bmw wheels is slammed on bags and the car rides great. I love that he can easily adjust ride height and it still rides very nice. I have another friend that's going to put bags on his Lexus is300 so I'll get to feel how his rides also. There's a lot of pro's in my opinion with using air suspension vs coil overs. I also love that it's not very common to do on the cl's so it would really make it stand out. The only con I think is the price is definitely more expensive. I tried looking for other cl's on bags but only came up with a couple. I would like to hear your opinions let me know thanks.

I was actually looking a air ride options this weekend but, I can't afford to get what I would want.
If you can afford to buy a nice kit ,buy it.
I'm sick of being on coilovers and worring about going over this and that but I would love to dump that thing when parked.
Air ride is not for drag racing or connering. But if your a cruiser then get them.
I would be envious, some would hate.

You just summed up everything I was thinking pretty much lol. Yeah I just have to decide what kit I'm going to go with...

I did and his was the only car I saw on the forum. I also googled it and only a couple gay ones came up lol. His is very nice which makes me want to do mine even more. I will do things a little different though.

Several 2G TL members are on air bags. Might or might help but I figure they would use the same set up.

I know air force suspension and k sport make complete bolt on kit's. I just have to decide what I want to use and save a little more since it is on the expensive side.

This is my opinion:

Strut/spring setup pros: Great for those who want to save money. Keeps a nice low stance. Easier to install and less headaches. ideal for weekend track/strip

cons: Not easily adjustable, very common modification

Bag pros: very adjustable, fun to play with people at redlights etc. Better than hydrolics in ride quality, ideal for show car and people who like to cruise.

Bag cons: adds more weight because of air tank, harder to install, a lot more headaches to install and things that can go wrong such as leaks in air lines etc. more expensive!

You forgot coilovers

Im curious how air ride would handle the performance aspect though (cornering loads, weight transfer, wheel hop, etc).

I agree with you guys on what your saying. I'm going to try the air ride out. It will take a little longer to save for them since they're so expensive but I think they will be well worth it.
