@ WOT is the converter locked or Not?!

@ WOT is the converter locked or Not?!

I think it should be unlocked to activate the Torque multiplier ... if so this explain why the 3rd Max at less than what gear ratio/final ratio/wheel perimeter at the redline dictates...

Am I wrong?

The converter only locks when you have high manifold vacuum (when you're crusing). At WOT, it unlocks. The idea is to give better fuel economy since converters are lossy (i.e. 10 turns on the input gives 9 turns out).
