**CL Body Kit- good news and bad news**

I've got some bad news about the prospects of a body kit. I've gotten word that the kit will not be released for our car. It was discussed but apparently will not be done. The demand for the kit is not high enough for american honda to begin production of the kit. When honda thinks of demand they mean thousands of kits not just a couple of hundred.

Now time for the good news. We have a couple of contacts with companies that can do the polyurethane mold for a body kit. What I need from you guys is some good pics of the sema cl from all angles. Some input from you guys will also be appreciated, re: likes, dislikes of the sema style bodykit. The kit can not be an exact copy, but can be very similar. There are proprietary issues to contend with. If there is anyone that is already pursuing this please let me know. I don't want to duplicating something that is already being done. Any input would be appreciated.

here is another members website. pretty good pics. I love the front and sides but the rear underbody looks horrible especially with that grey colored thingy. The front with the big ol' mouth is awesome. Looks really agressive. I wonder how all this would look on silver though.

http://rrw.d2g.com/development/albums/semacltypes.htm

Anyways, if you could get someone to do somethin VERY similar count me in.

The SEMA spoiler has the right idea but not enough LIP like the ones on the TL's and looks similar to the Solara spoiler

Side skirts could use slightly more aggression?

Trapezoidal exhaust tips and the grey exhaust area have got to go!
To remain consistent with the rounded contours of the rear, a meaner oval exhaust would be welcome.

I hope that those of you wanting the underbody kit realize that you will most likely have to change your shocks to something quite stiff in order to keep it from constantly scraping the ground--especially if you have springs with stock shocks. That SEMA kit is bulky and hangs low to the ground (looks great though).

I was wondering if it would be possible to modify the TL kit to work on a CL.
I know an awesome body man who I have seen do wonders with fiberglass & steel.

You need to paint and install the thing anyway, why not get it modified, installed and painted all at once?

Am I on to something here or will this NOT work?

No modifacation needed to the SEMA kit. Just make the thing look exactly like it. It looks fine IMO.
Now if some one could just make those rims

White/Ebony/Navi/Spoiler/Visor/Full Bra/Mud Guards/Cargo Net/Acura Car Cover/Tint 20%,35%,5% on Sun Roof, Rockford 250a2 Amp w/JL10w6 / K&N Drop in Filter. Comptech Springs. Polarg m-6.
Comptech Headers, Comptech Sways, Eurolite Xenon Crystal high beams.
AEM CAI once they decide to make the dame thing.
235/40/17's or 225/45/17's once I found out which one works for me.

gtech 0-60 6.03 w/ 438 pound load. preheader.

I can call the body shop that did my car. You can see it here www.downivlife.com and then click on Chris C and go to pics at the bottom of the page (this was the "rice boy days" of my life) But I will see what he can do for us, the only thing is I'm not sure if he will mass produce any type of kit. I will have to ask him.

Modifying the tl body kit to work on the cl would surely be the easy way to go. but i wanted to stay away from the use of fiberglass. Fiberglass tends to crack especially if you hit a speed bump or high angular driveway really hard. I was looking more on the lines of getting a complete polyurethane kit that looks like a combination of the tl and cl sema body kit.

I would really like a front spoiler similar to the one on the SEMA CL, but maybe with a slighty shorter mouth, something that would be a nicer fit with the stock road lamp units. Or what the hell, why not just change the stock road lamps too and get some fog lights.

The kit does hang a bit low. Maybe condense it so its not as beefy, yet agressive--so that it'll work well if you're car is dropped.

I wouldn’t want to go any lower then the factory OEM TL kit is.
This is one reason I chose not to go with aftermarket springs.

The SEMA kit is WAAAAAY too low for everyday driving around my parts.

If I wanted to, I could plow snow with that thing for extra cash in the wintertime.

It seems as if the majority of people are more interested in modifying other body kits or getting one done by wings west. I will step aside and let you guys do it on your own, good luck.

How many companies who make body kits are actually on this site? I'm going to guess and say not many... If you guys are really serious get a bunch of names together and email the different companies and request they build something for you.
