As much as I would like to keep the car, I am selling it because my wife and I are thinking about starting a family and having a 2 door car is not going to be helpful or useful for us.

Do you guys think I should go after this? http://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/car/692028872.html Looks like it was well maintained and in excellent shape, but 15k for average miles, plus his email response basically said it wasn't very negotiable at all leads me to believe he has no need to sell it.

On a CL with average miles (10 years would be about 120-150K miles) I'd guess about 6000-7500 or so... Less mileage will of course increase the value, more will decrease it along with overall condition.
My CL now is probably only worth 12K or so in a private trade, and about 10K in a trade in (with 75K miles), so most of the depreciation is already gone (almost 20K lost in 5 years). The "fat" part of the depreciation curve on the CL is over... The curve has leveled out now... From here on out, I'll probably only lose less than 1K a year on it... maybe even less than that... So for me, I makes a lot of financial sense to keep on driving it.
For you guys who have bought recently, you shouldn't see that much deprecation in the next 5 years... I'm thinking that a CL bought today will be worth 2/3 (66%) of the price paid now in 5 years (if you didn't over pay and the title/carfax is clean). If you pay 12-13K for a CL now, it should be worth 6 or 8K down the road...
Well kept 6spds with low mileage will probably fetch a decent price in private sales to enthusiasts, but in a dealer trade, they probably won't offer much.
Just a WAG (wild ass guess) but I think 1st Gen CL's will be a good indication of what we'll see in the future...

Not sure if this is against the rules, but I just found two very nice looking 6Speed CL's on philadelphia craiglist. One blue one white. Both with Ebony interior. Both have 52K miles for $10,200. Little upset seeing this considering I just bought mine in January with 85k for $12,800. Just thought I'd pass it on.

The ad for the blue one is fake because that not the pictures for that car that's the pictures from someone else's ad. The reason I know I purchased that car in March this is a scammer.
Check this out and look at pic 10, 11 and 13 do they look familar notice in these ads even though they are supposed to be a 6spd no interior pic to confirm it. Both these ad's look fake.

I'm Definitly in love with the anthracite metallic
. When I was looking to purchase there was only two colors I really didn't want white and ssm. Too many people have those on everyother car you see on the road already. The milage attracts me more on the blue than the color.

I searched for probably 4 months before I found mine, but sooooo worth the wait.
03 CLS 6SPD Satin/Ebony w/ 46K miles for $13,900. I had to drive 400 miles to get it but who cares. The worst part was trading in my beloved GSR.

I always liked the 2nd gen Cl type S. So someone just traded one in about 3 weeks ago. 03 Cl Type S 6sp NBP/ tan interior with navi. So I took it for a test drive, and I had to buy it!! Its got 59k miles, comptech headers, comptech sport intake, comptech mufflers and is lowered on Koni Adjustables and Tein luxury high tech lowering springs. Picked it up for $12,500

It's been a long time....
The wife and I have been looking for one at a decent price but there is nothing listed in our area unfortunately (within 100 miles). There is a '03 AT w/navi for like $12k w/77k on it here that I might have to go look at but the 6MT's are non-exisitent. Kind of a bummer. There are some other AT's for sale too but nothing in the color combo I'd be willing to take w/an AT. I'd be lying if I said the tranny issue didn't bother me a little. Oh well, I'll keep looking but sadly, time is running out.

Inside and outside are perfect.
Serviced by A&H motorsport here is PA. Oil changed every 4,000 miles
No interior noises at all. It's a very well preserved car.
Tires, rotors and brake pad have been replaced in the last 8 months.
Car never revs pass vtech that often so very light to no abuse.
The rims have slight curb rash but very minimal. That's about the only thing that i see wrong with the car.
Price? $10,500 to much? My wife is looking for more power so that's the reason for the possible sale.

7k... ouch... I just paid off my 03 CLS 6sp with 105k on it. Even with CT everything on it, I wouldn't get much more. And parting it out would cost me $$$ cause I don't have any of the original OEM parts.
But who says I want to sell my car... for me it's a keeper...

why cant any of these cars be close to me? ive looked all over cali and arizona and cant find anything id get. The couple that i found were red or black exterior and that wont work for me.

BTW, for anyone interested, this car is filled with new OEM parts due to a (now solved) warranty problem. It drives really really nice.
