thanks..

Thanks for moving it green monster. It's weird how resale value works. Same year BMW 3XX goes for way more even though its less reliable, slower, etc. Guess it's all about demand. The guy (retiree) who is selling that black CL tried to trade it in at his friends Volvo dealership and they wouldn't take it because they thought they couldn't sell it. Guess that's why he's selling it at wholesale.

Good god, it would help if I posted the links WITH the comment...

That SMR with 29k is pretty low mileage, bit pricey, but having already bought a CL, I would obviously look for a better deal for a 2nd.

At the rate I'm going (12-13K miles a year) I'll need 9 more years to have that kind of mileage.

That's a high production number (12547), so it's definitely only 4 years... 03's came out in March/April 02... so some are 5 1/2 years old now.

an appraisal

i was hoping you guys could me out with some information and opinions. my one and only car was a 96 gsr which i loved but was was wrecked recently. my plan was to get another integra but in the meantime i came across an '03 CL-S 6spd but with a little over 130000 miles on it.
that's a lot of miles in 4+ years but can cl's handle it or am i just asking for trouble? and how much would this car be worth? and all the transmission trouble, was that only for automatics? and lastly, is this the right car for a guy trying to replace an integra?

all your thoughts are much appreciated . . . slynxy

Yeah if you're a kid growing up, the CL is perfect for you. Civics and Integras are too teenagery for me (I had a Civic). Transmission problems only applied to the automatics so you're good. The 6-speed lives up to the reliability image Honda has set for itself, unfortunatley they let a bad batch of transmissions out in all the automatic CLs.

Since your profile says "salvage Acura rebuilder" I'm assuming it has a salvage title...

With most 6spds going for under $15k with clean titles, what did you expect ??

Mrsteves is going for $13K (w/ 96K miles) and has a clean title.

Your 6spd doesn't have original paint, and god knows what will show up in the carfax. That will scare most people away (well except stupid buyers).

Most 6spds with salvage titles go for 8-10K, so 9500 was more than fair...

Price is high, but it's certified and at an acura dealer... Might be able to talk the price down a bit, and having it certified to 100k miles is worth a little bit of coin IMHO.

Welcome to the forum...

Yep, issues was only for automatics.

Price depends on weither it's from a dealer or private party. You can run it thru kbb.com or one of the other online price guides. They seem to be pretty accurate for the CL.

I'd say it's worth 9-11k depending on condition... so lets just say 10-11K in good condition, more if it's excellent, less if it has alot of paint and interior wear.

Someone asked about this car in another thread, and I saw it on craigslist today. Seems like a good deal on a car with average mileage.

edit: It's advertised in Providence, RI - $11500 w/ 77K miles.

2003 Acura 3.2 CL Type S - $11500

2003 black on black Acura 3.2 CL Type S with 6-speed manual transmission. 77,000 miles with powertrain warranty to 100,000. I had the oil changed every 3,000 miles.

Some standard features: xenon headlamps, heated leather seats, automatic sunroof, 2 keyless entry fobs, 260 horsepower (0-60 in 6.0 seconds), FWD, LSD, in dash 6-disc CD changer, dual exhaust. 20 MPG City/ 29 MPG highway.

The car has been lowered with Tokico Illumina struts and H&R lowering springs. I also have the original struts and springs.

2 sets of wheels, both with tires: the original wheels and 17" custom RonJon Servo wheels, made specifically for this car.

The windows are professionally tinted 20% all around.

It has a CompTech Icebox cold air intake and Honda S2000 shift knob installed.

Also has a 12" subwoofer with a 300 watt Rockford Fostgate amp.

The Kelley Blue Book Value for this car in "Good" condition is $13,500. This car is in Very Good condition and comes with a few thousand dollars worth of extras.

I'm now asking $11,500. I have more pics for serious inquiries.

I dropped by the post office the other day to pickup my mail that was on a vacation hold while I was outta town. When I came out there was a guy in his mid 20's waiting for me. He told me my car was exactly what he had been looking for. CL-6 with navi. He gave me his business card and told me to call him if I ever wanna sell it. He was driving a dark red 1G CL.

Somebody jump on this before I end my saving up early, and just take out a loan for the rest. Because of the recession BS my interest rate was cut from 5.05 to 4.20 apy anyway

Its not my first choice. I appolagize if I sounded like it is not a good color, its just not for me. Frankly, if I were in the market for a low milage CLS6MT I think I would have to buy this one after a thorough inspection of course. In my opinion, that is a deal. It is in perfect condition. I would feel like a baller if I was 18 and driving that car considering I paid 30K for mine. I only say that because I bought my Accord from my mom for 13k when I went to college and I cant imagine if I had been able to get a hold of a car that perfect and nice for that price.

Nice... That's the exact match for my car except mine has 70K miles.... wonder if they would take my car in trade and some cash

That's the kind of car I think I'm going to buy next time around. No more new cars... something used with low miles would be a better deal than dealing with the damn depreciation...
