Sounds like you should have been a lil more involved in the install. You are not sure if there is a box? "I see them flush mounted-I ASSUME he made a box?" WRONG ANSWER! First off 8 guage was not proper and with large current amps you shold always use the minimum number gauge wiring as possible, especially for long wiring installs. Second, was the box buillt-FOR SURE- and if so did you tell the installer to meet the subs minimum space requirements? Third-what are the gain settings on the amp, crossover settings-is it possible they got bumped and need to be set again? If you are not "quading", hitting low frequencies, I am sure it is a combination of all these factors. The guaging of the wire would be the least of my worries, but also the cheapest part to have down right. The box-should it be too small is definately your major concern here with frequency response, then check your crossover setting. Good luck and show pics!

Why did it take a week..thats kinda what I'd like to know. That should take a day..3 tops.
I'm not an expert, but you have 3 amps correct? Is there an 8 guage wire for EACH? That shouldn't make a difference but it'll take its toll in the long run. I had a 4 split distributed to 2 8's and definitely not recommended.
Is you box built to specs? I know these speakers need a lot of room to move. They have great power, but no room. I's assuming its sealed ? And like wat everyone else said...check the gains nad frequencies..shouldn't the guy have tuned i for you??? How much did you pay? Go back and bitch. 1 week for half ass job aint chillin. If you're not happy then the install is wrong.

Just bring it to him and be like, "YO I had a question..this shit dont quad (quad?! ) right or doesnt sound like I thought it was supposed to. There's absolutely no harm in that. Then if you open your hood just ask him..are you sure that the wiring is good? Shouldnt the wires be thicker etc etc...see what he says.

miami is the birthplace of the ghetto style bass, 30's n lows
back in the day it would have been a hot pink S-10 w/ a truxarossa widebody kit and 20 15's in the bed, quadin' up the block to some 2 live crew.
we need to see some pics. are the speakers firing the same direction as they were in your last ride?

Are you sure about that? It took you a while to finish yours. It took me a yr and half to almost finish mine. And you think 1 week is too long

How much did you work on your car a day? Mine was limited to several hours a weekend and maybe a handful of 12hr days. But give me 7 12hr days I think I can do mine all over again in that time.
Aaaand....I always kept changing my mind about stuff here and there that just prolonged it even more especially waiting for things to come in the mail.

You should really try waiting to BREAK your speakers in....
My system sounded like SHIT for 3 weeks until the speakers were half way broken in... Just now, 6 months later are the soundiungf on point! I believe an average speaker need close to 100 hrs of play time before they are broken in... DO NOT GO BLASTING YOUR SHIT RIGHT AWAY... you will BLOW you speakers!

Did you pay with cash? If not, stop payment start filing the paperwork-bring the paperwork to your installer and show him that you are not satisfied and that you are stopping payment. pay him for upgraded wiring, but more important ask about the box and its dimensions compared to that of the minimum requirement for those subs! And what are those nobs for??????
