*****remote Start Alarm*****
I am planning to install a remote start alarm for my vehicle, but my mechanic/friend detests them in every way possible. Hey says they are not good becuase it can mess up your electrical system.
A friend from Acura told me that it all depends on who installs it and if they know what they are doing.
What do you guys think? YAY or NAY to remote start alarms? And please post your reasons for or against them!
Thanks in advance to all the replies!!!

I've never heard of a remote starter messing up the electrical system. But i'd have to agree with your Acura friend. If you dont know what you're doing with anything, chances are, you're gonna F*!& something up.
Talk to an expert in electrical and see what they say. A grease monkey mechanic is prolly not your best source for an answer to that type of question.
I'd say, go for it.

ive had a viper on my 98 mustang gt, now another one on my 03 cls, i had best buy install it both times, never had a problem. they do great work and they dont rape you of your $$$. i think its worth having best buy do it, because even if something goes wrong, it comes with a warranty and they fix it, no charge, hope this helps

as long as you have a good installer you wont have any problems. its the hacks out there that give the rest of us a bad name(aka mechanics who dont have any idea how a 12 volt system works) grrr
