Holy hell, that's high.
At a price of $35,600 or whatever it'll be...
If you get a loan at 3.9% for 60 mon and put just $2k down, you'r payments will be $617/mo
Higher than a lease, but you'd atleast OWN the car.

Nope I will not buy. As I did on my CL-s, I leased it for two years then bought it out.
This will cost you an average of 1000 -1500 more than buying the car in the first place. I consider the extra charge an insurance policy in case the car is a lemon or is in a serious accident.
I bought a 1995 Tbird SC for 29,000 out the door in 1995.
This car was wrecked once and had over 23,000 in warranty repairs in the first two years. The car was worth 5k!!!!!! at the best trade in value in 1998 when I bought my first CL.
I lost my ass, had I leased it I could have walked away.
So, hence I consider it insurance.
That is why people laugh when I baby my car and it hasnt been driven on wet pavement in 3 years. They laugh because it is a lease. Now it will become my winter ride and it is in perfect condition........

Save up some money... make a down payment... and finance it... at least at the end of the finance term you'll own it....

You can put as much down on a lease as you want. Hell, you can put the whole lump down and drive a car for 3 years with no payments.
I leased a 99 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro for only 59 bucks a month. Granted I traded in a 1997 Ford Ranger in on it, which was paid for. (showed me 12,000 for it) But instead of paying the 60 bucks a month, i cut a check right off the bat and drove for free for 39 months.
A lease looks at what the car is going to be worth at the end of your lease. That is what it is based on. So if you get a car that has an excellent resale value, the lease is a little bit cheaper than one that looses its value quickly.
My Audi held its value very well, which helped the lease out. Stickered at 36,000 and the buy ouy was 22,000. My Dad's Volvo S80 stickered at 37,00 and had a buy out of 19,000 after 3 years. The car was junk.

Its funny how some people have not a clue about leasing.
Leasing is one of the best ways to acquire a car.
If you keep a car for 5 +years or put crazy miles on it, then fine buy it.
But for those that actually like to get new cars every 30-39 months, leasing can be a very good thing if you know what you're doing.....you pay for what you use.
Some cars have to be bought based on the rates and residuals (Evo's and STis for example).
I bought the STi and leased the M3 ($2500 total down, $880/month....$56k MSRP). With the interst rates at 3.8% at the time, it just payed to lease the car since it had a 61% residual and a buy rate of 5.4%.
The Acura CL I had was leased, used it and gave it back. The car was Copper, if I had bought it do you think anyone would have actually given me anything for the car? Leasing that car was the best thing I ever did based on how many people bitch about what they are getting offered from dealers.

ok'
I have never paid over $400 a month (conservative, yes). Not because I couldn't....but because evern though I am a MAD car guy I realize that I need to "wait for the next car". My Prelude (last car) was SWEET. No mods but I silenced a lot of the normal fart cannon civic crowd that played with me in my Civic and Prelude. The CL is a car that I could commute in for a long time and boogie past a LOT of cars including some of the cars that schooled me in the Prelude. Pick a car that suits YOU. Admittedly, the CL is not the flashiest car out there. In 5 years we may be the best when it comes to other things including zip. If you can afford a lot of $$$ a month then go for it. There will ALWAYS be faster. Get "there" happy.
