Either way, covered or not, $230 is way too expensive for that work. The shop I take my car to charges me $15/rotor for resurfacing. I just had my brakes done (I drive the car hard, thus I brake hard), rotors resurfaced, and hand-brake tightened for $115
If you HAVE to do the service, take it to another shop, not Acura.

On Brembo Group Buy: The name of the Dude "BOOMER" that's selling them has his number listed. Front Brembos, I don't believe he can get the REARS.

My wife went to Oakland Acura yesterday to report the pulsing brake problem. They only resurfaced the rotor and didn't do anything else, according to the work invoice which didn't charge me anything due to warranty.
Should I call them back and press them to replace the rotor and brake pads? Or should I call the Acura warranty to complain? Will I get anywhere given that I already got the repair done? Any advice is appreciated.

Here is the TSB number. EricL had the actuall TSB posted, but it comes up as a RED X. I will PM him and see if he still has it.
Just tell them to look for TSB 10107. The dealer will know that you are serious.
Don't pay them to do it either!!!
I hope this helps you guji2 and oonowindoo. Keep us posted on how they treat you!!!

Thanks for the advice. Fortunately, I managed to save the image of the TSB on my hard drive. I am printing it out and I will contact Oakland Acura and have them replace the brake pads. Thanks.

Update: I called up Oakland Acura to complain about the brake pads not being replaced. I told them that on the work order form, it just says that the rotor was resurfaced which is just 50% of the warranty service per the TSB 01-017. According to the service person I spoke to, he claimed that he did replace the front brake pads but forgot to type it in on the work order form.
Do you think I should take his word for it? I don't know how I can get his claim verified. Doesn't it sound highly irregular for a service manager to forget to type in a major item like front brake pads on the work order form? Should I go to Acura of Pleasanton and have the warranty service done there? Will they do warranty service even if I got the same stuff done at Oakland Acura? Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

I would go to the other Acura dealership. Complain of some brake noise or pulsating. He will check it out and say something like "You have new rotors and pads and I didn't hear anything," or "You need new pads, that'll be $143252435.42" and take the car and bitch at the original dealer.

I have about 27000 miles on my car.
I am not sure how I am supposed to check the brake pads. I am somewhat car illiterate, if you know what I mean. I did take a look at the front rotor and brake but I have no idea what I'm looking for - if there are pics or instructions, I can probably get the info I need without having to go to the dealer.
Acura of Pleasanton is about the same distance as Acura of Oakland from my residence. I'll probably set up an appointment with Pleasanton and try to get them to check the rotor and brake pads. Should I mention that I would like them to verify the warranty work at Oakland Acura or do the dealers stick together or something?
Keep the advice coming, guys! It's quite helpful! Thanks.

Well to check them you can probably can't look pass ur rims, so u have to take off the whell, and dismantle the brake caliper to take a look at the pads

I'm in the same boat. No matter how many times my friends tell me I cannot understand how to tell pad wear. But I think with the stock CL wheel, at the right angle you can see the pad wear without taking it off.
Don't mention any recent work. He might give you a more accurate answer. For example if the pads were changed and he's honest then he'll tell you "We checked all over but we cannot find any problems. We tested the car and it seems to brake fine and the rotors and pads were recently changed." Or he might tell you "Change your pads." when they are in fact new. I know either way you possibly can get screwed, I guess it's how you read the guy. That's why we're here.
