Interestng... I upped the PSI to 36, and the ride got harsher (as expected) but the floating only diminished a bit. the input and output lag have not really been affected by the PSI change. Will probably drop it to 34 PSI.
Two hands at high speed now...

Wow, glad I found this thread. I'm in the market for some new tires as well. I'm a spirited driver and I drive 80 miles a day to work. I'm in So Cal so I guess I can assume its summer here year-round.
I'm leaning towards the S Drives now, my local tire supplier gave me a list of tires to research and H4S' were #2.
Has any one had any experience with the Kumoho ASX? They're cheaper than the H4S but are #1 on his list.
BTW, I don't know where you guys are getting your tires but $500 is a lot for these tires. I've been quoted $92 to $110 for these tires, installed!

Your high sidewall @ 50 probably cause the floating, again it happens @ 75+mph and that's high speed, 2 hands on steering wheel is highly recommand.
Had you broken-in your tires yet? Any differences than first day?

The Khumos are also a bit cheaper than the S.Drives.

Are the S.drives really terrible in the snow and everything?
I live in lower New York and want a good tire that will be able to perform but not become terrible the second the ground is wet.
I mean I will be definitely putting the stock rims back on in the winter cus $3000 rims are just not seeing snow haha, but just with rain and maybe a random early snow or something.
Im really debating between the S.drives and the Advan S.4 at this point.

Felt like a quick update was needed:
I have almost 1000miles on the S.Drives, and overall they are a good tire.
PLUS:
great grip
good looks
low-mid (<80mph) speed handling is fantastic
great grip (needed to be said twice)
I haven't chirped tires on a start since I got these tires
MINUS:
high speed handling (>80mph) is very loose
loss of 1-3mpg (per MID) over factory stock Pilots
I think these are very good tires, but I think the kind of people who would put them on a car are also the kind of people who would drive >80mph, and should be aware of the high speed handling issues.

Seems peeps are liking the S.drives. I had all Yoko Es100s on the TSX and then when I took her to discount to replace the valve stems due to a recall and they found one of the tires was bad so I had it replaced with my warranty. But since they dont make Es100 anymore I wanted an S.drive but they didn't have any in store and I had to wait for a day or 2. So long story short, I'm rolling on 3 Yoko ES 100s and one Falken Ziex tire cause the guy told me that this was a great tire and I wont be disappointed. So now I will be switching over to the falkens when I get some money to match em all. Are the S.drives better than the Falken Ziex? If so I will be sad...

I've had the Falkens on about 2 months now, and I've only approached 100 mph 3 times, with no one about and short runs 1 mile or less. What causes this 'wander'? Dunno. Tread design, tread width (17/215/50/7 on stock rims), inflation, aerodynamics, weight distribution, wind factor–or all 6.

Not sure if anyone still cares, but the S.Drives handle very well in the rain.
VERY hard to get them to break free, unlike the Pilots, which seemed to automatically activate the VSA as soon as water hit the windshield...

As for floating, I'm not sure what's the problem is cause I haven't experience any w/ my Yokohama Advan Sport. However, @ 100+mph, there's alot of downforce vs. lifting going on, so unless you have a very stiff suspension setup (I do), or else your car will fight alone that w/ that speed. High sidewall (like stock 50) will have a floatier feeling than most 18" (40) too due to a softer/higher sidewall.
I can't really break lose in rain too (forget about try), when it does slip, the traction is gain back like right before the VSA get a chance to flash lol.

So what would you guys recommend for a New York daily driver?? I plan to take them off in the winter and go back to the stock pilots.

moneys not an issue because I really dont mind paying for quality. Tire life Id ideally like them to last the longest they can haha as would many of us. The only thing would be, I do alot of highway driving to school at around 80+mph so the floating of the S.Drives has got me a little skeptic.
You can give Bridgestone S-03 (if you can still find them) a try, they are my ideal summer tires but end up I went wtih Yokohama Advan Sport. They are on the same level but the S-03 looks a bit sexier, and more planted on hwy (not as floaty I guess) because it's about 2-3 lbs heavior PER tire than other brand.
If you want super long tread life you will have to start to look @ performance all-season tires.

With 1000 miles on the S.Drives, the "Floating" has diminished greatly. They are still a performance tire, and drive accordingly, but I am pleased with them as of right now.
