Arrow winter tires on stock rims

Do any of you guys just mount winter tires on stock tsx rims when the winter comes around and then put your spring-summer-fall tires back on after the winter? I'm thinking of getting some winter tires and would rather not get steelies or new "winter" rims.

Thanks!

its been snowing/hailing/sleeting/raining here on Long Island all day long and I realized today that I should definitely get some snow tires. The stock Michelin Pilots suck in the snow
Car was sliding around everywhere

It's not too good for tires to be mounted over and over all. I would use separate rims for winter (or separate for summer stock for winter)

I did that last year, but it's not really good for the tires to be mounted and unmounted so many times, so I gave in this year and bought a set of RonJons for spring/summer/fall. My snows are currently on my stockies, which came in very handy today in the couple inches of icy slush we got in NJ.

You could do it, but aside from the other good reasons mentioned here, snow tires in the OE size are expensive and the selection not great. And it's getting expensive to mount and balance a tire (at a place you'd trust your wheels to anyway)(I pay about $20 a piece). 16" snow tires (big selection in style and price) mounted on steel wheels (around $50 a piece) or inexpensive alloy wheels (my choice @ $80 to $100 a piece) may end up being a wash money wise in the long run. They really don't take up anymore space to store, and if need be you can recoup some of your investment by selling the set off when and if you're done with them.
