Bridgestone Pole Position Potenza RE960AS: Best Price?
According to Bridgestone's dealer network, firestonecompleteautocare.com -- they will price-match from any reputable source. Like tirerack.com
I confirmed this today. Wednesday we're getting the RE960AS's in size 245/45-17 on stock rims for $163 each (plus probably the $39 tirerack shipping price to our house). 40K treadwear life guarantee. We're getting 10mm wider than stock for the curb protection, etc... only $2 more per tire than 235/45-17s, and the larger size improves from 94W -> 95W.
If you think about possible warranty issues over the life of the 4 tires, you don't want the tire maker, the wholesaler (tirerack.com) and an independent local installer to be in a situation where they can point fingers at each other. Also -- We chose a dealer store that has a Hunter 9700 in case we ever need to road force balance the tires, but we're not expecting to do a RFB on the initial installation.
