Wheel lock key stripped

Hi All,

I replaced my summer tires with winter tires and in that process stripped the wheel lock key ( Both the key and the lug nut got stripped)..

I am going to my nearest Honda dealer to take out the stripped lug nut.

Am i better of buying/ordering a new Key and a spare lug nut or get the whole new set ??

Thanks
mars..

I don't know if the keys for the lug nuts are all the same or not, but I'd probably just get a new set of locks, or not worry about that one wheel's missing lock. Dealer will probably just give you a lug nut for it.

Hi,

One of the wheel lock that is stripped i couldn't take it out..

Dealer wanted 120/- for taking that damaged wheel lock out !!

I bought the stripped lug nut remover from sears and it didn't work either..This set has three sockets (17mm, 19mm and 21mm) and 19mm is the only one that seems to fit the wheel lock. And it won't hold the lug nut tightly..The instructions said not to hammer it !!

Here is the link to the sears item http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...=0#reviewsWrap

I went to a local mechanic and he tried all the wheel lock keys he has got and none of them worked. He asked me to come back to cut the wheel lock.

Note: I have sent my wheel lock info to mcgard almost a week back and it might take another week to get the new key..

If any one has some other suggestions pls do post..

thanks..

completely stripped, and not much room to work with? Hmmm, can you fit some pliers or any tool that will hold it around it? Then you could get some vice grips to tighten down on it hard and maybe get it to turn like that. Other than that, I could weld a some channel locks to it and use those to get it off. But you probably don't want to do it like that.
