Velox PG-REV10

These are sweet. 17 inch wheels at only 11.5 pounds. They're even lighter than the Centerlines which are 11.8, but the Velox's have a higher load rating. Not sure on the offset and bolt pattern, but Turbo's September 2003 edition lists them among a selection of wheels and show an offset of 42mm. Of course, they only show 1 offset for each wheel they introduced, so there may be other offsets available. Also, so far I've only found one place online that sells them, and they're not cheap at $345 apiece for 17x7.5s. I've contacted the dealer to see if they had them with our bolt pattern and hopefully they'll give us some good news.

I just talked to Velox and the 17s are 17x7.5 5x114.3 with +42 offset. My question is, can I use the stock tires with these? If not, I might as well upgrade to 18s. They have 18x7.5 5x114.3 with +42 wheels which are just 13-14 pounds. They are out of stock on the 18s unfortunately...

They also come in silver, which is what I'd prefer. Dunno why I linked the gunmetal shot instead though, hmm... Anyhow, here's a nice highres picture of the silver ones from SEMA's website. Not embedded for the sake of 56k users =P

As we talked about on IRC I think those are pretty sweet. I doubt stock tires will fit on a 7.5 inch rim. Most likely you will have to go to a 225/45 or 235/45(same as stock diameter) Any of you photoshop people want to photoshop a set of the slivers on a tsx?

Sigh, figured as much. So, Tinky, what do you think of stepping up to 18s in these then? Only 13-14 lbs is what the sales rep told me. I don't know how to account for the change in wheel size with regards to what kind of offset you should be looking for, wanna help me out? =)

Stock offset is 55. I don't think those wheels will work on a TSX.

Too bad These rims would look nice on the TSX. The contour on the spoke edges matches the TSX

Hey Spencer...

I umm took a turn a little too fast and too late... hit the front left wheel on a curb... broke a control arm, lower suspension bushing, inner and outer tie rod, power steering rack, as well as having the axle pop out of its housing... Luckily, no one was hurt, and no serious body work needs to be done... cept for maybe fender above the front left wheel well and maybe the left side skirt...

Are you the Spencer that works at David McDavid Acura in sales? Psst, they really need to give this car better stock tires =P

how much is the estimate for the damage? just want to get a range of how much repairs would cost for a tsx?

Yes YUI,

I do infact work at McDavid Acura. I would also agree some better tires would be great. For the average consumer the stock tires are best. They offer longer life, which is easier to sell. Most people that buy the TSX, dont buy it for performance. Which is sad, cause the TSX performs very well for the price range. Good to hear that your car is fixed. Watch the curbs!

I remember you from when I visited... you were the one who demo'd the car for me. I definitely appreciated your time and your help with deciding on the TSX. =)

I remember you. Congrats on the TSX. Sorry our car sold, before you acted on it. But glad to hear you were able to find one. Let me know of any TSX meets. I would be interested in attending, as I bought one since I last helped you.

Hey, I finally figured out how to use photoshop to change wheels =P Tell me what you guys think... Also, could someone lower it for me? That's a bit harder for me to do... Thanks!

Man... I almost wish I had CG or Black now, after seeing a dark color with them with white rims... they look kind of stock, but then I like that... =)

The stock Michelins have a UTOG rating of 140 - not what I would call a long life tire. I HATE THEM! My last 4 sets of OEM Michelins were all junk!!!
