TSX - 5 years old - new wheels, or track down some replacement OEMs?

I wanted people's opinions. My TSX will be 5 years old in December. My wheels are in decent shape, but I was thinking of either getting new wheels or just OEMs that are in good condition. I don't know if any of my rims have any bend to them, but figure 5 years in jersey couldn't be good for them.

Any thoughts? I'm not looking to go crazy flashy, just something to prolong the life of my tires.

I'm about to hit 75,000 miles, so I'm considering some maintenance items and just thought maybe it's time for some wheels as well...

If you're not having any problems, I don't see why new wheels would be necessary. I know what you mean, though. My car has not taken a liking to the pothole ridden roads in the area, seems to be riding rougher these days. However, I don't think it's the wheels.

well Luv, i did take a nasty hit in my first year of ownership on the Pulaski Skyway. So I think one rim has a bit off-balance that is corrected by the weights when i get rotations. I'll have to ask next time. But I have had some uneven wear in the past.

Also, the rims are a bit scraped up, but it's really not necessary, just something I was thinking about doing.

so your vote is - waste of time and money? you're probably right.

I have a 2006 and recently swapped my wheels out for these. http://www.enkei.com/pf01.html So far my only complaint is that I now have to paint my calipers cause they're much easier to notice now.

Yeah, I'd say unless you know for sure you have a bent wheel, or if the scratches/curb rashes are really bothering you, I think it's a waste of money.

I've taken some REALLY nasty potholes over the years, thought for sure there'd be some consequence, but so far I don't feel anything wrong with the wheels.

I do, however, have a set of RonJons for summer use - but that is just because I use snow tires in winter and it's easier to have a dedicated set of wheels for them (stocks for winter).

Good looking wheel, but it does look a little fragile (we're talking New Jersey here). I'm with the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" gang, especially if the rest of the car if your typical 5 year old Honda (sorry, mine is 5+ plus years old but still looks almost new). Maybe a decent set of OE's from ebay, but I wouldn't suggest investing much more than that (you also have to add on the $100 or so just to change them over).
