never bad... but it depends on what you use. I used to use the Armorall protectant (white bottle) which worked great but it started to turn my tires brown. If you use the ones that are meant for tire shine (unlike me) you'll be fine. I use Vroom tire shine when I have time (that works the best) and then AA spray shine if I don't have alot of time. I love Vroom products tho... so I'm biased

It doesn't give you that really ultrawet look but it protects and gives a decent shine and I haven't had any problems with it since I've been using it.
