Tire Question
Tire Question
Well I have decided on some tires... I'm going to try the Goodyear F1 GS-D3... I'm looking forward to trying these out for myself and seeing how hard I can push them
Anyway, here is the question... I know our stock Michelin's are XL load rated
The F1 GS-D3 I'm getting is a 235/40 ZR18 It's load rating is 91Y SL. Is that ok for the Load rating?
The F1 GS-D3 in a 225/40/ ZR18 has a load rating of 92Y XL.
For whatever reason, only ther 225/40 18 has the 92 XL load rating, while there 235/40 (which is the size tire I want) has the 91Y SL... I just want to make sure I'm on the 235/40
I was looking at the Tire Selection/Wheel size master guide, and I was looking at the part in the begining listing various tire sizes.... anyway where it shows 235/40/18 and give the description of REVS/MILES it list it as 794. However looking at the specs for this 235/40/18 Goodyear F1 on tirerack, they list REVS/MILES at 822.
Does that make sense? What concerend me is the Tire Selection/ Wheel master guide shows the OEM tire (215/50/17) with a REVS/MILES as 792. And since the Tire Selection/Wheel guide shows the 235/40/18 with a 794 Rev/sMiles... is the Goodyear not appropriate for TSX Use? I'm going to be running it on 18x8 rims with +42 offset...
I don't really understand tires enough to understand the REV/MILES significance, but I did see on other tire sizes on the Tire selection guide, tires that had significant REV/MILES differences from OEM showed they were anywhere from 1% to 3 % off of OEM specs/ and could be considered a mismatch.
Anybody who could post some info much thanks!
