I just installed tein ss coilovers. And I sat the stiffness at 2 clicks from the hardest.
I like the stiff ride, but I am not sure it that will ruin the suspension if I keep the stiffness at 2 clicks for a daily drive. Any sugestions? Thanks

 

Depends on the road condition. If you set it that stiff, try to avoid ANY pothole and go slow slow on un-even surface/ speed bump. Cause if the road condition is too poor, your comfort will suffer big time w/ that setting.

The default setting is 8 clicks back & 8 clicks front. So If I keep it at 2 by 2 then the only thing at risk is the ride comfort?
I am assuming that a bad surface will cause the same damage if the damping is set at (8 by 8) the same as if it was set at (2 by 2).
Is this right, can any one help me with that.

 

if you want your suspension setup that stiff for daily driving then more power to you. but, if you've got bad roads then i'd soften it up a few

 

youll probably do more damage to the shocks by excessively decreasing the damper then making them firmer

 

The only thing riding like that will ruin is your date's teeth.


Just kidding, I know it is not that stiff. It is perfectly safe to run these at whatever setting you want. Firmer settings do not create more wear in the dampers; nor do softer ones.

Although I really don't understand you description of things. There is no "default setting." Just spin all the way clockwise and count back 16 clicks softer from there.
