Tein H-Tech Springs

I want to put a SLIGHT drop on my TSX, but I don't want to fork over the $600 for an A-Spec suspension. It's my understanding that Tein offers an H-Tech spring set for the TSX now.

If I install this kit, will it still cause damage to the stock suspension like say an Eiback Pro-kit would? The drop is 1.1" front and .7" rear I think.

Thanks again!

if by damage you mean worn out shocks, even the OEM suspension setup will wear out the stock shocks, it just depends on the lenght of time. Eibachs will wear them faster than Teins, which will be faster than the stockers.

Thanks guys! I guess my biggest question is....if I install spings that only drop the car an inch....is it still considered reasonably safe?....I think Xizor pretty much answered my question, but I'm looking for more input.

Bottom line...would you do it w/o aftermarket shocks?

i think the fact is that once u change ur springs ... u can start counting down for ur stock shocks .. ~
my Prokit probably will die for 2 yrs max .. ~~ so im getting the Koni yellow within a yr anyway .. ~

if u wanna u a aftermarket sprnigs + shocks set up why not just go for a full coilover set up .. ~~
ppl go for springs frist cuz they dont have the big buck for coilover in the first place .. ~

You're going to experience increased ride stiffness with any type of lowering spring, but for sure the less you drop it, the longer the stock struts will last.

I'm guessing that you're looking for a drop primarily for aesthetics, but I can tell you that the front of the car is so high from the factory that a 1" drop will still leave the car looking like it "needs" a drop. I measured 1.25" with my A-Spec kit and I still have a solid three finger gap in front.

The only thing I can say is that most of the companies (Comptech, Eibach, Nuespeed) seem to drop further then advertised, which is good aesthetically but not good for the struts.

This is a pic of YBlegals car; he lists Tein H-Tech springs in one of his posts and his signature. I can assure you this is much more than a 1" drop.

pretty much, the stock shocks aren't worth saving anyways, might as well use them up.

the only reason why i don't want coilovers is cause i would adjust them like every other week. i love the slammed look but then i got sick of it so then i raised it up *vice versa* which means alignment problems and camber wear. i didnt have a cambet kit on my teg. so on my TSX ive decided to get springs so i can't touch em. haha.

I think he was selling his springs for awhile. This thread is really old though, so I'm not sure whatever happenned. You should try PMing him or looking for his contact info in some of his post in the black market section.

Are you still using the stock shocks? Do you need the camber kit?
