Ya i knew you could drop the CST's as much as you wanted, I was just wondering if I would have had rubbing issues.

sorry, but you're wrong.

Specification ..Sidewall ..Radius ..Diameter ..Circumference ..Revs/Mile ..Difference
215/50-17 .....4.2in .......12.7in ....25.5in ......80.0in ..............792 ..........0.0% **OEM**
^above is OEM

225/40-18 .....3.5in .......12.5in ....25.1in ......78.8in ..............804 ..........-1.5%

you're now 1.5% smaller than OEM

vs. my suggestion:

235/40-18 .....3.7in .......12.7in ....25.4in ......79.8in ..............794 ..........-0.2%

where you would only be 0.2% smaller.

225 is not the best size for an 8 inch rim.
and it's not the closest to OEM either.
I guess you did your research wrong.

Thanks for the clarification MMS, but i already knew that information.(checked the wheel size choose guide).
I didnt mean that in a disrespectful tone at all. I knew that 235 would fit better, but I didnt want to have a big sidewall, I wanted a smaller one so I would be able to drop it more and not have a lot of rubber coming over my rim.
Appreciate your info though MMs

No. No modifications done to a car can void a warranty on a vehicle. Check Magnusson Warranty Act. If the dealership determine that the modification caused the fault then they are not required to honor the warranty but only if its determined that the mod cause the damage. But having a modification will not void a warranty. And don't let anybody tell you so.

Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act

No aftermarket part or accessory that is properly installed on your vehicle will entirely void your original vehicle manufacturers warranty. According to the provisions in the Magnuson-Moss Warranty - Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act, It is the dealership's responsibility to prove that your modification directly caused or affected the failure you are trying to resolve. With that said, some dealerships are more performance-oriented than others and are more willing to work with customers.

Warranty-related materials, published by the new vehicle manufacturers, state that the installation of aftermarket parts have no effect on the warranty unless such equipment causes the problem that leads to the warranty claim. Nonetheless, some dealers have improperly denied warranty claims even though the claim had nothing to do with aftermarket parts. I.E., just because you install an exhaust system, your suspension failure warranty claim cannot be denied. If you experience a problem with an uncooperative dealership, point out the provisions of the this "FEDERAL ACT". For more information call your vehicle manufacturer or click on the link above to go directly to the Federal Trade Commission's website to find out more about this law.

Actualy, 225 is suitable for rim width range from 7.5 to 9 inches. Also, the tire numbers alone is not the suitable way to determine the actual size of tires as different manufactures or tire models of the same "advertised" size can have different actual sizes. However, the "advertised" tire size is a good starting point to narrow down to a particular size of size. Then the actual specs should be evaluated. Here is quick comparison of the OEM tire specs to two 225/40/18 sizes. Please note the rim width range and sectional width of each tire. There is a difference in actual specs even the advertised size is the same, especially if the same tire is mounted on different width rims.

More rim width reference here -> http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete...#rimwidthrange.
