Sport Max racing 006...opinions please!

I just ran across these wheels online and thought that I would give them a gander. Here is the link to their site . I would possibly be looking at an 18x7.5 with a +42 offset. I am dropped 1.5f/1.25r on Neuspeed Sport/Koni and I think I should be free of rubbing if I choose the right tire. I LOVE the fact that this wheel has a 2.5" lip!!

What tire would I be better off with a 215/45/18 or a 235/40/18? The tire dilemma is this...With the 215's, I want the tire to be stretched a bit so that I don't have clearance/rubbing issues, and it looks pretty good if done right. One the other hand I want the 235's to rid the "sunken in" look that my OEM wheels have with the OEM body kit on. I want those new tires to hide some of the excess flare (like fender flare) of the body kit.

What do you think about the wheel style and the tire situation??? Any input welcome.

18x7.5 +42 offset will be quite flush with the guards like you want... why not run a 225/40 and go for something in between.

I defintiely know what you mean about the bodykit flares.. more flushwheels really suit the Oem kit.

Andre,
18X7.5 +42 offset will do fine. They should sit very much flush, If anything that's probably the best size to run in 18's. The bigger the offset the deeper they sit in the wheel well, which doesn't look to good I'm running 18X7.5 +40 offset with 225/40/18 Nitto NT555 tires and am flush. I'm dumped about 2.5 inches front and 2 inches rear. I had rubbing issues in the front the first day, but took Xizor's advice to remove the clips and tuck in the fender lining and granted....no more rubbing. You should be fine without any rubbing with your drop and choice in wheel size.

As for tires, the best choice would be 235/40/18 as it's closer to stock diameter, but found that 225/40/18 was a popular choice around here. I simply chose it for looks, as it looks more low profile/sporty look oppose to the 235 series tires as it looks more bulky IMO.

BTW, are you getting a good deal on these wheels? They look pretty good!

Chris - I may look into that size too. I am going to have to look at a bunch more pics on the gallery and check some of those out.

Jay - The package that I am looking at would retail at about 1400 and change. I have done some creative shopping and have found a deal through ebay, at about 900 shipped to my door.

Go with the 225-40-18 tire to keep that sporty look... they're still well within plus sizing tolerances, and won't have a material effect on your speedometer/odometer. I have the same exact specs on my wheel/tire combo, and they sit flush with the fenders. They'll look great.

Come to think of it the 225 size is probably the best way to go. It will be easier to find a tire with that size anyway. I am having second thoughts about that lip on the wheels though. It is 2.5", that's Angelina Jolie style. I know that CJAMS has a deep dish setup with his wheels, but the face of his rim is curved so it looks nice. The face of these rims looks to be flat, so i don't know if the car is going to look like an SUV with that kind of lip.

Well A Cake On... I would have to agree with you there. While I personally love "deep" dish wheels, I only love them on much wider wheels (at least 8.5"+). For FWD cars, that's not always realistic. It's all about what you think, but IMO, I think it'll probably look a little disproportionate.

However, I'm also a big fan of mesh wheels

And black wheels with polished lips
