Size issues - size matters!

Hi all,

I think I've decided what rims I want on my black TSX (Accord Euro) but just wanted to ask on size issues. Size matters of course, and I'm thinking that I might go with the standard 17" size to keep everything else stock.

I'm thinking that 18" would almost commit you to do some lowering not to mention fork out an additional $1400 on new quality tyres for the rims.

I'm thinking that if I stick to 17" I can just get the stock tyres (which are almost new) put on the new rims and that's it.

Any thoughts on this little dilemma?

Cheers.

PS: These are the rims I'm thinking of...

any aftermarket rim really makes the car look like its jacked up, its an optical illusion, so even 17" isn't safe

is it the aftermarket rims or the new low-profile tires that give it the 4X4 look? i just put on a set of TL wheels and tires, and they look a slight bit closer (snug) due to the heftier tread on the tire.

i think its a combination of offset, width and tire size. Even people w/ 17in aftermarket rims w/ oem tires look jacked up

Don't keep the stock tires even if you stick with 17s either.

I think it's purely the wheel design that makes most aftermkt rims look smaller. The stock TSX rim has no lip and has spokes that extend right to the edge of the rim. Most of the aftermkt designs have some lip to them making the spokes not extend as far.

The key is to pick an aftermarket rim w/ spokes that extend right to the edge of the rim. For instance, Advan Kreuzers as seen on cmf's car. These are 18s, but they look as big as some 19s:

This is a far, far cheaper wheel, but is this the idea of spokes to the end of the rims that you were talking about?
