Seeking Expertise..

My current wheels are TL A-Spec. When I bought them off of eBay, the seller listed them as 18x8, so I kept my eye on them and I won them. However, when I received them and inspected them, they were actually 18x8.5. Now this makes my life a lot more difficult.
My questions to you all:
- How low can I go without rubbing?
- Tein H.Tech 1.1 F 0.7 R, will that be a decent drop?
- Will I HAVE to roll the front fenders and pull the rear for anything lower?
- My coilover preferences are either the Tanabe Sustecs (which I heard are absolutely great) or to order the Tein Comfort Sport

Thanks

I say you are fine with the tein H-tech. If you want to go lower, it all depends as well on what tire size are you gonna get.

the offset is +45, and those wheels probably already stick out a little bit in the front. honestly the 18x8.5 wheels are a bad starting point, but since you've already gone done this road you're stuck.

i'd say the fronts are more likely to rub, and w/o a bit of camber front and back both will rub if you go much lower. IMO i think any wheels will work w/ 1.6/1/4in drop. But the beauty of coilovers is that you can adjust it till its just right.

I'd advise against rolling your fenders b/c the paint on the fenders will crack very easily! you can do little things like move your fender liner inside the fender to gain a couple mm

so how much camber would you need to run to fit an 8.5 +45 offset wheel.

Depends purely on the amount dropped. Probably fine up to 1.5 or 1.75", after that, then you're likely to start needing camber adjusters installed.

I want to tuck atleast 1/4 inch of tire maybe more. I know I have to run some negative camber but what I am asking is if you thinkg it will need to be a lot.

depends on your offset really, I don't know how much camber is necessary

There no exact science - manufacturing tolerances of the suspension and so forth will dictate the amount of camber needed once you get beyond a certain drop point.
The best thing I can think of would be to talk to some of the companies who make camber kits, specific suspension kits, and the stores (online/bricks & mortar) who've done enough R&D and trial and error.
They'd be the ones I'd ask advice from before going any further with the idea.

be first to do it the camber isn't adjustable in the front, so if you really want to add something u need those spoon control arms
