Rotor Advice

I know there have been many posts on rotors, and I have perused them multiple times; however, I still have a question hopefully someone can help me with.

I have a 2006 TSX with 80,000+ miles and stock rotors, which of course are warped and vibrating. I do significant freeway driving, and drive/brake somewhat aggressively. I would like to get something better than stock, but I don’t want to buy extremely expensive rotors and pads etc.

So
1) Are Brembo blanks a reasonable alternative, or what other affordable rotors should I consider?
2) Can I paint the exposed areas of the rotors so they don’t rust, and if so what paint do you use?

Thanks!

You should look into Powerslot/STOPTECH rotors and STOPTECH Performance pads. They are far more durable and a much better performer than the OE components, and the price is reasonable.

Specifically the front slotted rotor by Powerslot/STOPTECH is a curved vane setup with a Power Alloy composition with black coatings on the hubs and vanes.

I have brembo blanks painted with high-temp rustoleum and they are holding up nicely...

You might want to search for heeltoe's article on brakes and try bedding in again, as you might just have unevenly deposited brake material stick to your rotors...

If you're looking for a better bite, you should focus on pads and better tires. our oe pads are soft and our oe tires are shit. they're not made for aggressive driving.

I'm planning to go to RacingBrake rotor and pads for about 330 shipped for the front set. I already have the rear set and i love em.

Have a look at EBC rotors. The non-contact exposed part is painted black and supposedly won't rust. I installed these on my 04 about 2 months ago and they're holding although 2 months is a short time.
