Rays lug nuts question

Are all keys the same? Can someone use their lug nut key to remove any Rays lugs?

No, they are not the same.

I had a set of black duralumin lugs, which I replaced recently with red ones. For shits and giggles I tried the key for the red set on the black set and it didn't fit.

I've read that Rays has about 200 or so key variations.
it is very strange Wong that you have a key that fits two sets.
well, from what I read.

I have a set of gunmetal shorties and a set of black shorties, and the
keys are different.

the extended lug nuts... atleast from what i remember, the keys are not necessarily to act as a lock, just simply to be able to access the tight spaces require a key.

The actual rays locking lug nuts, the keys should be different. if somebody REALLY wanted ur wheels, nothing can really stop them though.
