Hi,
I'm a new owner of an '07 TSX and I'm thinking of getting a set of 18" A-spec wheels - on eBay they're pretty inexpensive and I like the looks of them but I've caught just a couple comments about the them being heavy wheels and wasn't sure what the general opinion on those wheels were. The car is a daily driver so it's not going to see any track time at all - I'm just looking to improve the looks of the car.
I'm new to wheel upgrades so I'm not sure what really matters with a set of wheels so I'd appreciate any comments on them - I see plenty of 17" A-spec wheels on TSXs but not a lot of 18" wheels (so it seems - apologies if I missed an important thread about it recently, I've tried to read as many as I could).
thanks,

Hi,
Sorry, looks like I missed a couple relevant threads of recent vintage - I still have a question though...
Is a 215 wide tire too narrow for the 8" width? Or should I be going with a 225 or even 235 width?
thanks,

Pic of my TSX with the 18" Aspec wheels. I had 245/40/18 tires on them. The TSX Aspec wheels are way too small IMHO. In addition to Ebay, look on the BlackMarket under Off topic, you can probably get a set with tires for cheaper than ebay.
215 would be too narrow, 225 or 235 would be good.

Thanks SHYUperman,
That's pretty much the look I'm going for - same colour car and same colour wheels.
Q: How much of a lowering is that? That looks like it's about 2"?
thanks,

The 8 or 8.5 wide were for the TL, though many have put these on TSX's with little or no issues...
Going from 17 to 18, you will feel the road a little more
A heavier wheel will take away from both acceleration and braking performance.
Excessively wide tires increase rolling resistance and decrease fuel economy.

Just one note on the TL wheels. They have less offset (et45 versus et55 for the TSX wheels), so along with the extra width, they'll stick out even more. I'm lowered about an inch, and though others seem to have used the TL wheel successfully, the 17x8 et45 wheels w/ 235/45x17 tires (plus 0 size; wider but the same diameter as the TSX OE tires), I rubbed occasionally with that set up.Originally Posted by feuss2
