Neuspeed Koni Yellows Group Buy, interested?

I've just moved over from the private sales section.

I along with 2 other forum members Benz_05_TSX & PixelHarmony are looking to get a set of:

Neuspeed version of Koni Yellow shocks for the TSX. Official vendors, can you please give us a GB pricing?

So far we got:

Kaikai114 (04 TSX 5A)
Benz_05_TSX (05 TSX)
PixelHarmony

If any of you are interested as well, just post a reply and I will update the list for our Official Vendors. I hope I'm posting under the right forum, if not, Moderators please feel free to move accordingly. Thanks.

KC

I'm interested. But, I saw a GB on an Accord forum, so it has to beat $525 for all 4 that I saw.

Wow, that's a great deal! Especially if they're the Neuspeed version. Are they? I just bought mine from eBay and will actually take delivery today by the way.

Hey Moda, did you notice rust on your comptech springs? Mine are off and there are signs of rusting. They're the 110-160 though so they're different than what you have.

I had comptechs before and the top was a little bit rusty when I took them out. I only had it for less than 2 months so it's difficult to see if it will rust for sure in the long run.

I am wondering the same, the Konis on the Accord forum whether or not they are Neuspeed version. Difference is 5 adjustable perches compared to 3 on the normal konis.

Im interested too, I have an '03 Accord Coupe, the Neuspeed/Koni SP3's should fit. Please let us know what the price will be. Thanks.

I'm also going to let others on V6P.net and gen7accord.com know about this and hopefully get some more interest.

I'm doing an install for CKcentral this weekend and need to do a tire rotation, so I will check. Plenty of salt was thrown down, so if there is a chance they're going to rust, I'll see it.

What do you plan to do if you see rust on your comptech springs? Are you going to try to fix/clean it up or just replace? I'm at that crossroad right now and I can't decide what to do. Any advice?
Thanks

Looks like I'm going to have to delay this purchase for 1 or 2 weeks.

HoRRo has promised me payment for the BC coilovers I'm selling, but has backed down all of a sudden

I'm still in for the GB though, just won't be happening this week.

Marcus,

Would you mind pm'ing all of us that are interested pricing info + installation? If possible, are you able to beat the Accord forum moda has mentioned above? Thanks in advance.

Guys, keep in mind that, in addition to the 5 spring perch settings, the Neuspeed Koni shafts are also shortened as compared to the regular Koni yellows, ie. the Neuspeed Konis are designed to work with shorter than stock springs.

Since practically all of you are using lowering springs, no problem. They should fit fine. However, if you plan on using stock length springs, you will have one HELL of a time compressing the stock spring enough to get it onto the shortened Neuspeed Koni front shock.

Well, to be honest, it would depend if it was surface rust or not. I have all my other suspension components set for lowered springs. I may replace them with new 110-155s or 110-160s. All depends on the amount of rust and the deal I can get. Worst case, I got back to stock springs.

Since this is the suspension forum, maybe I can ask a question related to this and get a response faster. W/ the Koni Shock + a set of lower spring, the price will be around $700USD+, how does the whole setup compare to Teins Basic??? I know this setup can be adjustable, but how's the ride comfort + Performance against a coilover??? THX

In other words, the Neuspeed version shorter shafts will be more "fit" for lowering springs over the original Konis,?

chuson-
You can get a set of Neuspeed Race springs and the SP3 shocks for $600 shipped on the Neuspeed website, thats much cheaper than the Teins. Supposedly compared to the Teins, the adjustable dampening ability of the Konis will allow you to get a smoother, more OEM like ride, if thats what you want. But performance-wise the Teins are stiffer and would be better for racing/tracking, however, the Konis can be adjusted to be very stiff also. With the Koni shocks, you can only get about +/- .55 inches of additional HEIGHT adjustability, versus the Teins which have a much larger range of height adjustability. Overall, the best bang for the buck, IMHO, would be lowering springs and the Koni SP3 shocks, for ride comfort and cost, also I am not really interested in height adjustments.

kaikai114-
Yes, the Neuspeed/Koni (SP3) version, with its shorter shafts, are meant to be used in conjunction with lowering springs.

So far we got:

Kaikai114 (04 TSX 5A)

PixelHarmony
moda_way
TSX430J
03pcoupe
oaksnutz

maybe:
drunkenbuda

Heres another list from Gen7Accord.com (http://gen7accord.net/forums/viewtop...?p=29793#29793)

ntrinsik- seriously interested
joedanger11- interested
jaamonliu- “very interested”
vabeachgirl- “count me in too”
2oo5 akkord Driver- possibly interested depending on the price

This is starting to look pretty good, and like kaikai114 said, if we can get a good price there most-likely will be many more people interested. Thank you to our official vendors (MrHeelToe or Excelerate) for assisting everyone.

Yeah, I pretty much hate group buys. But I had one go through rather successfully about 2 weeks ago so I am willing to give it another shot.

Basically, I need to make sure people are for sure interested and are ready to buy. And I need to know how many are. I don't want to waste a bunch of time for people save up.

It would be a deposit first, then balance payment type deal.

This is a dirty rumor that is not true. The Tein Basics ride close to stock. I would not classify them as stiff in any sense of the word. You would need a much more aggressive setup to go racing with. That being said, the Teins will be a little firmer than stock over some roads, and will handle well.

I understand your position. I'm a businessman too, so if you hate the GB just state a fair price and if it is a good deal, then people will buy. You have plenty of other great deals going on, why should this be any different. Does that sound like a fair trade?

Yup. Because the shaft is shorter, the shorter lowering springs will fit on the shock better. So, when you raise your vehicle up, the spring won't be loose.

Thanks for the clarification, I would take your word over mines haha

Could you PM or post a price, that way people could have an idea of how much they would be saving and thus be "In for sure" or not. Or give us an idea of how many people "for sure" in would it take to get any sort of discount. Thanks a lot.

I got the cash in hand too, if the price is fair, I'll put down a deposit. I am actually looking for the Neuspeed Super Cup Kit (neuspeed sport springs + koni shocks in a set). The listing price on neuspeed website is $600, please let me know how much you are able to get it for. Thanks Marcus.

It comes with Neuspeed Race Springs. I wanted this kit too until I saw how low the drop will be.

^ i don't mind having a rear camber kit since i have springs too~

But like Moda and Marcus have said already. BUsinessman thinks differently. Since this is a fiarly large (i think) organized groupbuy, having too many variation might be annoying. Also, most people here I think just want the shocks (myself included), so I think if Marcus is really going on w/ the GB, he might just do the shocks..

Ok, i signed up for this forum just for this. So $525 for a SET of Neuspeed Koni Yellow SP3 struts/shocks? The one with 5 adjustable perches right?

If that's right, I'm all in. Been looking to get a pair of these for the longest time.
