Lightweight wheel question

I'm looking for a decent set of lightweight wheels but don't want to look like everyone else. Where can I find 17 or 18 inch lightweight wheels that aren't too expensive but aren't too common either?
Also, what are the most common lightweights people on here use?

In my experience, it's rare to see a TSX with anything other than stock rims. So, don't worry about it!

OZ Ultraleggeras are nice. For a little less, Enkei RPF01's are a good choice. I'm not sure if you can get a good quality lightweight wheel (<= 17 lbs.) for much less.

Hmmm, I'm thinking about http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...2&wd=17&rw=7.5
People at www.8thcivic.com swear by them. Anyone here know much about them and if they seem to make much of a difference?

well I can't say anything for those rims, but I can swear by
lightweight rims and quality tires.
they will surely and without a doubt make a vast improvement.
pretty close to what many call a night and day difference.

these were the first 2 that popped in my head. kosei wheels would be another choice. but i'd lean towards the oz or enkei brand as they've been around a long time

Ya, these are both good choices. I don't think I would put Konigs on my TSX. I'd roll stock before doing that.

Where are you located? I have a set of 17x7.5 RPF1's if you are within reasonable distance.

I'm in Southwest Louisiana. Still just tossing around the idea though.

FYI, sales and trades are to be done only in the Black Market section.

OP, what's your budget for wheels (not including tires)?

edgeracing.com lists wheel weights for many of the wheels they sell. They currently have enkei rs7's for sale. Not a great looking wheel IMO, but $70 per wheel at 17.5 lbs each, its a steal. On top of that, its an enkei wheel, a trustworthy manufacturer.

If you are just aiming to be light, these will do. Don't forget lightweight tires, which you can bundle with the wheels on that site. They come balanced and mounted, so once they come in, you can throw them on and really tell the difference.

Like MMsTSX said, its a night and day difference. I went from 45 lbs total wheel and tire weight to 38 lbs. The car has been really responsive ever since, and the ride has gotten better as well.

hmm, how much do the stockies weigh? I have an '06. (In case they come with a couple of different wheels)
I see edgeracing.com has some 18 that look decent and are pretty darn cheap. http://www.edgeracing.com/2006/Acura/TSX/wheel/3592/ RS7's and weight 19.5 instead of the 17.5 CarbonGrey Earl mentioned but are 18's so the wheels should weigh less and end up about the same weight. I also like the look of the 18's way better than 17's.

Stockies weigh somehwere around 21 lbs I believe.

That link you sent doesnt show the exact rim, want to try it again. What is your budget for wheels?

If you end up going with RPF1's and decide to buy brand new get 18's, especially if you aren't lowered that much.

First one on that page. For some reason, my link worked the first time I tried it, but not a minute ago. Maybe you had to have the car selected for it to work.
If stock is 21, that's not much savings. I'd definitely go with 18's so that means new, smaller tires, so I'll save some weight there, but don't know how much. I wonder if it's worth getting those without much savings.
As far as budget goes, I'm going to try and stay around $1000 for the wheels and tires.

Enkei makes some light wheels. like stated before, RPF1'a are a great choice if you want to save weight. The only problem is that in order to save a lot of weight with the RPF1'a you might have to up your budget a couple of hundred. You can probably get tires and rims for around $1400 with the RPF1's.

Some other brands that are good for light wheels would be Volk (a little more exspensive), Gram Lights, and Advans. You could always look around in the Black Market section of the forum too, there are some great deals in there.

Hope this somewhat helped. If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask them
