Keeping Stock Rims
Hi guys,
how are you?
I would like to know that when you guy bought the new rims and tires,
you guys still keep the stock one or sell it? I am having a plan to sell it but I did talk with some of my friends and they think I should keep it just in case one day I have to sell my car back to the dealer or private sell. I can sell my car with my original rims + sell another set of rims for extra money. what do you guys think?
thank u.

I use mine for spare winter tires but given that your in cali i don't think that is an issue for you.
Probably can make more money out of your rims if you keep them in good condition.

I have kept mine also. Since I cannot expect more than $500 for OEM rims and tires I figure that it would be better to keep it just in case I have a flat or I sell the car.

Or good to keep (crosses fingers) but if your new wheels are stolen. Their was a topic in Car talk where a S4 was dragged by a tow truck on blocks. So just something to keep in mind.

Sold mine. I'm keeping my car for a long time, I don't need snow tires, and don't really care if my rims sell with my car after I'm through with it. It would just take up space in my garage, which is packed as it is.
It depends on your situation however. I've got a friend that changes rims quite often, so he kept his stocks to cover the inbetween period.

I sold mine for 450.
the only reason I sold them was because I replaced them with OEM TL wheels.
if I bought aftermarket wheels, then I would definately keep my factory wheels.

I keep them because I have summer tires on my 19's. & all-seasons on the stock rims, and in when it snows the New York City road salt is Havoc on rims.
