Post up pics soon! I decided that I'm putting these on my wife's Civic Si sedan and getting the Silver ones as well. I agree about the color on the CGP. Oh well, live and learn

hey, IMO they don't look that bad at all! i could imagine them looking amazing on a black tsx. kudos for taking the plunge nonetheless and putting those HFP's on. what tire size did you go with?

let's see more pics!!!!

I'll get pics as soon as my car is washed. I'm rather embarrassed by how dirty it is =]

Living in michigan seems to make it impossible to keep this car clean.

But they look sick. I'm overly happy with the results. One thing they made me realize is that i need some aftermarket brakes cuz ours are really small lol. it kinda looks goofy.

Just a heads up to those of you who are wondering but the TPMS sensors off of ebay worked like a charm first time and i was told by numerous people that the civic sensors will not work on our TSX's. If you are putting these on a civic, no probs the price includes TPMS so ur good to go.

Pics later. Gotta get to a car wash and they all close early around me so it might be next weekend unfortunately, unless i get over how dirty it is and snap some anyways.

all great info:

225-width tires look great, and i was planning on the fk452's myself.

acura tsx tpms sensors WILL FIT these civic hfp rims - that's GREAT confirmation! odds are i get another set as well, and keep the ones i got with the tsx for use with winter rubber.

Yep the acura sensors and the civic sensors are nearly identical in shape and size from what i was told.

Keep in mind the older HFP wheels [bronze] do not have a notch cut out for the tpms to lie flat so you may get rattle without double sided tape. this was covered in that one dealer's podcast.. cant remember the name.

My tires are Kumho ecsta ASX 215-45-18. Look great, rides almost identical. just a bit bumpier but i actually prefer that.

i think its just me but it seemed my mileage went down a tad as well as my performance but if im not mistaken these are actually lighter than the stock TSX wheels..

Ya, I think they are actually 1 pound lighter per wheel then the stock 17's.

so far i'll take MeHoo's rims & TPMS sensors + 1TSXer's tires & cap emblems

btw fellas, straight bolt-on these rims? no need for spacers, hub rings, etc. etc.???

also, is it possible/easy to remove those 'HFP' stickers?

My father manages a body shop/paint shop and he installed my wheels last night. He said the HFP is a decal and could come off easily with a bit of heat.

Straight bolt on. Nothing needed.

Im debating the Acura emblems on the center caps. Keep in mind the HFP center caps actually have a ring to keep them on. slightly better set up than ours which just snap in. Not a big deal just thought i'd mention it. Having the H on the wheels doesnt annoy me since i know they are honda wheels and acura is honda, but to keep it all the same i may get the acura emblems. Just a pain to have to take the wheels off to change that.

1TsXer which center caps did you order? The handa ones? I paused when it said it only works on the 17" wheels they had listed... just want confirmation that they do work and i'll order up a set. Dad's gonna be pissed when i ask him to help take my wheels back off again =] he's got the impact tools and i dont.

Stickers would come off relatively easy. I just decided to change to "H" to "A" to keep with the theme. You'd be surprised by how many average Joes don't know that Acura is made by Honda

Ya, I ordered the ones from handaaccessories. They are a direct replacement and come with new locknuts and fresh adhesive backing. I just popped the old nuts off with a small, flat screwdriver. After that, I slowly eased the same flat screwdriver under the "H" to start lifting it off. Be careful cause you don't want to scratch these babies. There may be a bit of 3m tape residue that will need to be scraped off with your fingernail.

Ok i'll get some pics tomorrow. gotta go get the car washed. Anyone know anything about painting calipers/brakes? i think im gonna need to.

Plan on dropping it an inch all around and getting the windows tinted legally once i get my Dr's note.

The only reason i won't get pics is if it rains all damn day and the carwash is closed again. its been raining like every weekend here and it sucks.

IMHO, i wouldn't paint the calipers/brakes. i painted the calipers on my old car (2000 civic coupe) black when i got new rims, and i regretted it bigtime. u just get tired of it. i mean, we all get tired of our mods at some point, but this mod is relatively permanent, assuming you don't change your calipers/brake setup to something else later on down the line.

take rain pics! we don't care! we just need to see them blade silver hfp's!

i wish our rims looked like these stock. wtf.

INCREDIBLE.

thanks for posting your pics and sharing your experiences on this project guys. AZ as always comes thru and delivers the priceless info!

those rims look like they were MEANT for the TSX. bravo on the execution!

the finish on those rims reminds me of EK civic sir rims - that machined polished silver look. very nice.

the only thing i would change, IMHO, is remove the hfp stickers, change the H's over to A's, and as other stated... a nice mild drop.

time to start saving up my pennies... blade silver hfp's here i come!

planning on suspension and 1" drop overall soon. In michigan if you go lower than that you're asking for trouble... hell, some of our potholes are deep enough that if u hit them now u'll bottom out.

Glad you all like them. Prolly get the calipers cleaned up/painted. Dropped an inch, some suspension, intake & exhaust and tinted windows then i think i'll be done. Oh and dont forget those acura center caps. That house in the back isnt cheap though so... gonna be some time before i get all of that =]

BTW those are my images, he just posted them with IMG tags. I dont like to do that because i still feel sorry for lowly 56k users =[ So your AZ pride is misplaced in this instance =]

probably black.. hiding them is the idea

for suspension a buddy of mine is helpin out since i'm rather clueless. haven't really picked much yet. i've seen pics of 3 sway bars and some coil overs but thats about it. I don't think i need to spend thousands in this area to be honest.

exhaust and intake is the tougher choice. i really do not want my $30k car to sound like a damn rice rocket yet i wouldnt mine a tad more performance or sound. i think with living in michigan we've decided against CAI and instead will most likely get a short ram setup. he mentioned the heat from the engine is at the back anyways so a CAI isnt really doing much except risking stalls.

ordered my Acura emblems today. no idea when i'll switch them out. Doesnt bug me like it bugs some of you guys lol.

black if you really must paint calipers, ya... but you'll get bored of them!

suspension: there's LOADS of info right here on AZ. long story short, you're probably fine with a-spec suspension, or tein h.tech/h&r oe sport + koni/neuspeed yellows. ingalls rear camber kit AT LEAST as well.

exhaust: odds are apexi ws2 is the way you want to go as it seems to be on the top of everyone's list in terms of exhaust note, looks and silence.

intake: i srsly doubt you'll get any significant gains out of one. you will get more noise though. my 2 cents.

awesome

u should take pics with both cars, the tsx & the civic si sedan. i probably would've bought the si sedan myself, but it isn't available in auto.

nice fleet you got there! our 2nd car is actually an 04 cr-v which is great for the kids.

Okay here are my pics since switching from the Carbon Bronze to the Blade Silvers. Again, I have Falken FK452 225/40/18 mounted on them and the Acura emblems on the center caps. I'm also lowered on Koni/Neuspeeds w/Neuspeed Sport springs (about 1.5")

Holy crap those look good.

It's odd but maybe it's just me, in the profile pic they look great but in the close ups I don't see more than very subtle differences between the HFP's and the 04-05 factories that I have now.

Its just you. First lets count the spokes.... 9 on factory and 7 on these

flat faces not rounded

bigger

cleaner overall design IMO

in essence, that IS the point.

the execution is OEM+, i.e. the lay person won't know the difference between stock and a mild mod (especially because the rims still say "acura"), therefore keeping the OEM looks but differentiating the car SLIGHTLY from stock. those that know the tsx well will notice immediately.

it also has a timeless quality to it. chances are this setup will still look good 4 5 6 years from now, whereas one may get tired of the biglip rims or the "mad tite jdm" look a lot sooner.

indeed there is a time and place for everything, though. i.e. i doubt this look will ever win any car shows.
