help selecting a tire width

I just bought some new rims 18x7.5 and need to put some rubber on them.

I am looking at both 225x40x18 and 235x40x18.

My question is what will the noticeable difference be between both?

And if anyone has either of these sizes and can post a pic that would be great!!

Thx, in advance

Personally, I'd go with a 225/40 on a 7.5" width wheel. Both the 235 and 225 will work, but there will be more sidewall buldge with the 235. 235's look good on 8"-9" wheels.

Check out this site:

Your new tire is smaller, so your speedo will be off just a bit. The 235/40 would have been nearly an exact match.

I'd go with 235 width, b/c side wall bulge helped me from a few curb rashes.
